Yes. Yes, we will.I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
meh i did experience any problems last night with Avast :P must have just been lucky although i have to say i am impressed according to that blog the fix was released within 45 mins which i think is a pretty good response time,
although i would have thought the simple solution would be to stop the 110411-1 update rename 110411-0 update as 110411-2 and send that out asap whilst working on number 110411-3 as a proper fix, but hey ho hindsight is a wonderful thingDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0 -

Takes me less than 2 seconds to click on it (And thats only every 3 days)
I wonder how many hours some people lost on this slip:idea:0 -

That is what they did. The update servers were turned off until the -2 one was pushed out...
I think this was mentioned in the forum.-Scott-

Exactly the same here, I was wondering how the hell I had such a bad infection heh.
Luckily I logged onto my other pc and was just doing some googling before I whacked out the recovery disks.0 -

Won't be able to slag it off
The machine will be so slow with Avira running in the background that it won't be possible to type anywhere
Tried it once and it was awful. Horrible interface
Avast may have been a problem last night but for a freebie can't really complain too much0 -
Oh just realised i quoted alienrik and he normally knows his stuff (previously helped me)
Perhaps Avira is not so bad after all and i was just unlucky when i used it
Just seem to remember it wasn't very user friendly.0 -

I used Avira on multiple computers and multiple incarnations of Windows for over a decade - never had any problems with speed; also it is has one of the best pure antivirus file scanners available, free or not.
Interfaces are subjective. I found Avira's to be no-nonsense & simple enough to follow. Avast is a bit more 'noisy' by comparison with a lot more happening and a lot more to configure, but still straightforward enough. F-Secure is the most unobtrusive & minimalist I've seen.
I agree that we can't complain too much about Avast, but they do really need to work on their quality control as this is pretty bad PR for the average user. Information wasn't available in a timely fashion as their sites weren't available, so the worst case easily could have been that a malicious act had been perpetrated on Avast.0
