AVIVA's MVR ate my profit

BrownieJ, without an audit, neither you nor I know how many people disbelief what I've written. Could be 4 out of 60 million. Small stuff. There were enough messages here and privately to indicate that plenty give me the benefit of the doubt and/or accept that what I wrote was accurate. Hence the little exercise. We call it 'reality testing'. And now I know how to deal with oddities, there is no reason why the process I've described (with a good outcome) shouldn't work for me next time.0

Not that I believe 60 million have read this thread, but judging by the number of thanks for those that have taken issue with what you have said, I fear the number is far higher than you think.There were enough messages here and privately to indicate that plenty give me the benefit of the doubt and/or accept that what I wrote was accurate.
Actually Ellen - I was looking back through your previous posts as I had answered one of them about your ISA transfer and you never got back to me. Through those posts you seem to have quite a few occasions of other posters being confused and asking for clarification and you saying you were leaving the thread because people were dismissing you and, according to you, calling you unintelligent. Most of them also seem to be about you being conned or scammed.
Like this thread where you asked doctors, dentists and other experts a question;

You seem to be very unlucky.there is no reason why the process I've described (with a good outcome) shouldn't work for me next time.
I do believe you feel what you wrote was accurate and that you described it the best way you could with your limited knowledge of the product you have.
However I can see why others with more knowledge of the product have disagreed with you, especially as you refuse to provide the one document that could back you up.
If you have the KFD and it says nothing about an MVR you have strong grounds for complaint against your IFA and may be grateful for it in future. However this one is doubtful as it has been shown that the KFD does contain reference to the MVR.
If the document that you think is the KFD but in actual fact is not, then again you would have strong grounds for complaint if you could show you never received it.
Personally I would want to know if it was my bond.0 -

There are very few messages on this thread that accept your view. Most accept your confusion and lack of understanding and there is nothing wrong with that. The biggest problem we have had is that your information has changed a lot over the course of the thread. Having new information provided over a thread is common. However, having details change hasnt made it an easy thread. You then have largely ignored many of the posts asking for clarification or the evidence, when provided by links to the pdfs, has been totally ignored.
Those that have taken a completely negative stance against the majority have a posting record that is consistently negative irrespective of the facts. Basically, anti company, anti adviser, anti establishment etc. They have chips on their shoulders so big that it prevents any balanced discussion. If you read their posts again, you will see they range from complete trolling to then discussing generic issues about a hypothetical fund and not the one that you have and therefore not applicable to your situation. What you see as supporting you are actually people that either dont understand themselves and dont want to understand or troublemakers who only post on the board to create negativity and be nasty.

BrownieJ, again, you misrepresent what happened. Just checked link. Nothing odd. £11 was taken out of an account for what seemed at the time, no real reason. In the end, it transpired that the company's computer had not placed question or answer under my name but as a guest (how can a computer go wrong? That almost never happens.) Hence I, or rather, guest, got an answer, but I did not. Still, computer managed to charge me for the answer I did not get and still haven't received. Company did not refund, as far as I know. Perhaps I did not add outcome as customer services took a while to find the cause and because I've been so horrendously busy. I'm currently listening to a lecture on enteroviruses while I write this. Have five hours of lectures to listen to today. Lots of new retrovirology and genetics.
Messages offline noted support but also revealed some fear if they went public. Some agreed, some disagreed with me. Don't recall anything about ISA transfer. I've transferred ISA's without problems for years. But a member of the family might have asked something as one did have an issue. I don't know. We use same email address etc for sites like this. Apologies, but I don't recall anything about ISA transfer.
The Key Features doc is headed key features. A4, Norwich Union. Came with other docs in a nice, plastic folder. Happy to fax to anyone. It's six pages. (I'm too busy to learn how to use googledocs etc). If you send fax via private mail, I can fax and you can peruse. If you can find MVR, then I'll apologise, ofcourse, and donate something to a charity of your choice.
Two issues over mnay years. Financially, I've been lucky.0 -
Now I'm confused. So I'm dishonest and confused. Because a few popel say so. Even after my effort to be clear in post 1. Yes, details changed as info came in. Doesn't make me dishonest, just means I had time to update. Confused about the product. Maybe. Not confused about what was written in my documents or which person told me what (AVIVA, FO). Confused about the association between retroviruses and prostate cancer. If a player, why don't wives get ill as well?0

Sorry, Le Loup. In view of the context, I missed it. thanks.0

No-one has said you are dishonest. You do seem to take every comment as being a personal slur and turn it into something it is not.
In theory, this thread is about 13 pages longer than it needed to be. The fact the guarantee part has no MVR charged to it after the 5th anniversary is not debatable. Its fact. Links have given to confirm it. The documentation issued by Aviva directly on the 5th anniversary has been supplied (we now know you are not at the anniversary yet).
The only really debate things are you perception of what you consider an excessive MVR or not. A 6.67% MVR does not sound excessive. Especially when you had equities drop over 40%, fixed interest sector 35-40%, property drop over 50% and even cash lost money with the failures. However, the fact the MVR doesnt get applied to the capital plus RPI indexation after 5 years makes that whole thing largely irrelevant.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I was not referring to the actual case. I was referring to posts that asked you to clarify what you meant. For example Post 6;

Not looking for a public apology or donation - just trying to help you out to see that everyone here is trying to help you.0
