  • Morning everyone,

I have done 3 coats of watered down paint on the bathroom floor now, I'd say it looks ok, not great but not terrible. I did the third coat this morning so I'll see how that looks when dry. It would look pretty good if I could do one full strength coat but there's no paint left, hence why I was using watered down in the first place. But I'm calling it "coastal style" and no-one can say it's not as I live at the coast!

Have a bit of general puttering to do today then MIL has offered to buy us takeaway for tea which is very nice of her so we'll be heading over there later, hope the weather's not too splashy as it's about 40 miles away. Have a good day everyone, hope the chat with the children went well Taliahmai.

Today is a quiet day - rest day after yesterday

Sorting the pictures on the laptop into folders, deleting duplicates and then once done transferring them all to the external hard drive OH received for his birthday.

Call Autoglass as our motorhome has a massive crack in the windscreen

Washing still piling up but new one arrives tomorrow :j, so hope it will be sunny and blowy still.

    Have a good day all
  • Morning Messies!
Gilly - as your own Doc is sound, and he`s the one monitoring your recovery, you can`t go wrong there!
Cat - hairbands on rubber gloves! Have you thought of getting some long gauntlets?
YL - when we had a houseful of fosterlings we tried the `race to tidy` games. SO much `stuff` got crammed anywhere out of sight it defeated the object!
Well done all who`ve been doing...and ((HUGS)) to all those with the grey soggy weather like ours!
Yesterday I went shopping before the chimney sweep came, got utterly soaked and was going to hang my coat to dry but decided to give it a wash as it was already halfway there! ( I got some `croc` type things at Lidl, £4.99, super comfy with detachable liners, so got 3 pairs!!)
Chimney sweep spent ages looking out of LR window at the birds on the feeders, as usual, and there was a squirrel out there too. Glad he doesn`t charge by the hour!
This morning I`ve washed the small cotton rugs that go under Daftie-dog`s beds & the her cushions (upstairs & downstairs ones), got the clean spares out of caravan of Doom, & `made the beds` for the dog at least! Daftie now doing big happy sighs and plumping her clean cushion as I type.
Not sure yet what I`m going to tackle today, still need more coffee before I decide...
Have a good day Messies xx
  • Morning folks...

Thanks for all the advice yesterday, I sat the kids down and talked with them last night and they wasnt half as bad as i thought they would be, they took it all in and we sorted a daily 'to do list' We have only put 5 things on the list but they are things that the kids are happy to help with. So its a start. We also drew a big reward chart up and thought of some appropriate awards for helping out.

Last night the kids managed to fill 3 carrier bags full of toys and books out of the living room and take them away to there rooms, we also cleared all rubbish out and i actually had a clear floor....had! lolSo its a start :)

I also had word with my mum last night and she was more mad that i hadnt asked for help before now, she has take 2 wash baskets back to hers to do for me, so that will be a big help, ive also done 2 loads and have hangers all over the house lol

Then last night i took the girls to bed and they have drawn all over 2 of their walls!! i was fuming, i only decorated it last weekend for them. So today im touching up with paint!

Emm-in-a-pickle....i would of joined your chimney sweep at watching the birds i think lol, id love to get them in our garden but my neighbour is a mad cat woman lol and they are always in my garden so the birds wont come :(
  • Sounds like someone's not going to be allowed pens and pencils in their room for a little while! How frustrating for you. I can't remember writing on the walls, I know I'd have got a larruping.

Glad the chat went well. We have a lot of cats visiting the garden much to my displeasure but I feed the birds and we still get quite a lot coming in, we even have nesting blackbirds. I have hanging feeders and some fat ball feeders tucked well away in the middle of the quince bush. Plus I'm at home all day to spray any cats that look like they're up to no good. Sorry cat lovers but the birds are more important to me than a stranger's pet having a toilet break!
  • I once bought a book called "Why Am I So Disorganised"
... and then I lost it!

    True story! :)

    :rotfl:

Maybe they sell it with a homing device - only ever printed one and sold it over & over again! We'd all blame ourselves without ever knowing how sneaky they were :D
  • Taliahmai - welcome. I have the same problem with clutter except it's just me here. Having had a bit of a clear out my mood is much better than it has been for ages. I hope the same works for you.

Someone else suggested this to me, think i might have to dig the kids supersoaker out! lol
