Oh, GR, <hugs>. You will do it, eventually, simply because you feel so awful about it all. Go on, make a baby step!

Thank you all for your sympathy. As I said, OH wasn't close to his aunt (and I didn't get on with her at all), but she was Mum iL's sister, so OH will be his Mum's rep, IYKWIM.

Emms, of course, your curries are better than Mr M's! :) Quite, about OH's cousin, but we don't want to make a big thing of it - it's hardly an appropriate time, in that any time is appropriate. However, if she treats DD2 the same as she has on the last two occasions (both funerals), OH will say something. the cousin doesn't know DD2, and she certainly doesn't know what she's been through. And thanks re DD2 and her bf. We have high hopes all will be fine now.

Gillybean, well done for getting that blind clean. We've never had Venetian blinds but I know they can be a real pain to clean.

I've vacuumed the LR and kitchen, but didn't do the rest of the rooms, because I didn't want the cats to feel I was chasing them! I've cleaned the shower (at last!) and the rest of the bathroom, but the floor needs washing. May do that later, along with the kitchen floor. Note, 'may'!

Must go over to see Mum, and pick the runner beans before they spoil in the wind and threatened rain.

Have taken lots more pics of the cats, not all successfully, but I want to email some to the rescue centre. Must be one or two that look reasonable.

Oh I have no problem with cleaning when I have the time. I just really do not have the time on weekdays and end up wasting one whole day of my weekend for this. In my place doing one bit at a time has no effect at all and is a total waste of time.

And it just never lasts with the zoo I have at home.. 4 cats and a dog, by the time I get home after work on Monday - back to square one with mess all over....

Anyone interested in 4 cats and a dog?????

    Where are they? The photos??????

    How are the cats?
  • Bearcub, you've inspired me to get out from under the quilt I'm working on and get the hoover out. Cheers!

Glad to be of help, alec e! :)

The cats are good, thanks, GR - we've had them for 9 days now! Garfield knew he was at home when he first walked out of the basket, I think, and regularly takes over our bed. Star has been much more wary and, apart from when OH was about to feed them, she ran away every time one of us walked anywhere near her. In the last two days, she's become a lot more confident and a lot more affectionate.I'm more than happy to post some more pics, but I don't want to turn this thread into one about pets, lovely though they all are.

Well I've taken a deep breath, plucked up my courage, tightened my pinny and bought a new fridge freezer! I figured out the delivery thing in the end, you had to go right to the checkout to see the options and there are reasonable rates (£12) to get it delivered tomorrow.

It's a hoover model, larger than my old one with an extra freezer drawer which I have hankered after for a while. £250, so not bad really. It will be a real luxury to open the fridge and get a properly chilled drink (I don't do alcohol though) without having to load up a ton of gel packs!

I'm utterly exhausted this week, so going to chill out totally tonight. Gardening tomorrow while I wait for the new fridge freezer - I can't wait!

Sounds as if you got yourself a good deal there, jps. :T Isn't it odd how we can get so excited over something like a new electrical appliance?

I suppose pets are messy, especially when you have as many as GR has! Our pony, Mickey, is the messiest and wettest equine I've come across, so much so, I'm considering changing the name plate on his stable door to 'Muckey'. ;)

As requested, GR - Garfield looking innocent.

And a not very good pic of Star, but she is sitting on my lap, and I'm sitting on a very hard conservatory floor after taking Garfield's pic.

  • Hi everyone!

I've been lurking this week, well done to everyone that's managed to get stuff done - i am not including myself in this group as i've been very good at avoiding housework all week! :(
Bearcub - sorry to hear about the bereavement, on a lighter note the cat pics are fab and your conservatory floor is a LOT cleaner than mine is right now!:T

I've been at work for the past two days, it's been brilliant meeting all the people with their pets!

Tomorrow i MUST get some housework done!!

    Hope you are all ok!!
