Food was all over the place last week, to the extent that I've had to chuck 4 things away today which displeases me no end. So I have stuck something in the slowcooker and have two other things on the hob, that's the food for this week dealt with to free me up to do other stuff. I've also washed all the prep stuff and put it away which lead me to wipe the worksurfaces and cupboard fronts. Time for a brew now.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Lovely Son's birthday party yesterday:eek::eek::eek::eek:. He invited 5 school friends over. What a noisy, rampaging, looney bunch...never again. Little Son was not that impressed either (he is quiet and sensitive). Luckily it was sunny so they played outside mostly and I used disposable plates and cups so very little washing up afterwards. Boy am I glad that is over with.
Starting this week with the meal plan that I wrote last week. So instead of forgetting I looked at my diary meal plan and took the mince out of the freezer yesterday (I always forget to take stuff out of the freezer in time).
Need to sort the garden out before the weather turns. Need to put a few things up and puts away seed trays etc. Off to empty bins and have a general tidy up.0 -
Afternoon Messies.
Oh, Alec e, what pain to have to throw out so much food! It's painful enough to me that we throw away milk every week - do wish that you could still buy half pints.
Lavandula, I always felt that way about kids' parties, so I have every sympathy. It got to the stage where we were willingly paying out for parties elsewhere, rather than have them at home. The kids were generally well-behaved, but I hated having to entertain them. Our weather has already turned. After hot sun until lunchtime, it came over very grey, and today, it's been windy and drizzling on and off.
BB, very impressive, especially as you've managed socialising too! :T Oo, coffee cake! Any left?
Wife FF, has it got that bad, then? Lovely to see you again.
Have got rid of a bag of clothes and shoes to a CS, sorted dried washing, and cleaned bathroom - although the inside of the shower could do with a wipe. I'm having to wipe away paw prints pretty frequently, and I'm just about to set to and make a card for OH's birhtday tomorrow. Must go over to Mum's at some point and pick the sweetcorn.0 -
Well my house is not too much of a mess as DS and DOH are doing wonders, except for the ironing which is annoying me as it is piling up.
Been in bed all day - think I overdid it yesterday as feel like carp and in lots of pain - lesson learned.
It is my birthday tomorrow so definitely getting up then
Hope you are all doing well, by the way it is only 15 weeks to Christmas0 -
Evening everyone
Slight change of plan, OH is I'll so has been off sick today and is off tomorrow too, he took it as holiday as his work has a silly 3 rule policy with sickness!
We went to tesco and did the weeks shopping
Stripped the bed, washed, hung out and back in the airing cupboard
Cleaned and tidied the bedroom, just got to Hoover it tomorrow
I've just had my first bath in months, bit odd, not sure if I enjoyed it or not!
Tea is an easy one tonight, lemon and black pepper fish with chips and peas
Not sure where today has gone!0 -

Sorry to hear you're feeling really uncomfortable today, Gilly. I hope you feel well enough tomorrow to enjoy your birthday. Are you hoping to do something special?
It's my OH's birthday tomorrow, too. I bought him 2 cats.Well, we've got two new cats, and I paid for them!
Your OH obviously works in a 'touchy' type of job, Gillybean, to have to take three days off. How's Mia doing?0 -
Hi all
Have been lurking, but utterly dispirited regarding the house.
Well done to those surviving the new term/bedroom deprival/new shift patterns/new cats/new sleep patterns (Gillybean!) and I'm pleased your son is getting support, YL, even if he isn'tAt least he has the energy to complain...:D
*Still* working on those blasted walls, but only slowly and increasingly painfully.
What with the new responsibilities on top of the old ones, have been going to work at 7am to keep on top of everything there. Should take me less time when I've done everything a few times, I hope. I was in before the head this morning...:o
But the payoff is...I'm teaching most of the day tomorrow! I'm so excited! Wish me luck! :j
(PS-I have always considered the shiny sink a bit of a con, as when I'm struggling, I'd have to do a sink full of dishes to get to it. And I never dry dishes...I can't afford to do jobs that will do themselves.)import this0 -
Hello laurel! Good to see you again. Sorry the house is starting to get you down.
And with all the added school stuff but, you're obviously looking forward to work tomorrow, so I hope it all goes really well. You deserve some reward!

Mia is just perfect, she is 5 weeks old tomorrow already, have no idea where the time has gone. We have our 6 week check up on Saturday (3 days early) so hopefully I'll be back to driving and we can go out and about a little bit. I'm surprised how well I feel considering exactly what happened!
OH is feeding her now and I've come to bed, he is just be best husband and daddy -:)0
