Good morning my lovelies :)Had a fairly good run this morning before slowing down, have done washing up, cleaned kitchen and bathroom, mopped the floors, and mowed half of the lawn. Decided I'm going to keep my laptop upstairs from now on; so it's in my little temporary office. I'm hoping this will help me be a bit more motivated rather than just reaching for the 'top and mooching around not doing anything on the internet. All I've got left to do today is to mow the other half of the lawn, and hoover. The rest of the stuff on my list is just little bits and pieces that can be done whilst I'm up here.
(((hugs))) Emm, thank you so much
Bearcub - so far I've discovered lots of roses, some things that look like giant orchids, oriental poppies (which I adore and would be perfectly happy to let them run absolutely rampant), a few clematis (though my favourite one is now missing all of it's flowers due to the wind) and various other bits and bobs. Really need to have a proper tidy but but I'm quite enjoying the riotous colour effect!
Yesterday I finally took a deep breath and got rid of all of my 'just in case' used jiffy bags. Apart from the odd thing, I hate selling on ebay, so they can all go (and I do have a huge stack of brand new ones here, so go figure the logic of keeping the old ones??) I think I'm just going to go and have a potter now
Love and hugs

So far the hoover has made it in to the bedroom. It is sitting there looking confused.........................Nevertheless she persisted.0

Afternoon Messies.
Seems very much like a lot of Messies are de-messying gardens atm, despite the very unpredictable weather. And why not? Make the most of the fresh air and exercise, I say!
Buffy, considering how you described your room, it does sound as if there's a lot to do, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were exhausted way before the end of the list. But who knows? Maybe once you get started, you'll be on a roll!
MM, like you, I love oriental poppies. We have a fair number of them, too, but they're been wrecked by the strong winds and heavy rain. A lot of the flower buds have rotted. The roses have suffered, too, but I suspect that those, at least, will recover.
The wind was quite 'interesting' on Thursday and Friday, wasn't it, Kitty? Our back windows (facing SW) are covered in what looks like fine rain, but is, in fact, salt. Now, do I wait until the window cleaner turns up again, or do I try to clean them myself? Hmm. I hope you hear soon about the new flat.
De-messying chez Bearcub? Well, I did some tidying up in the garden yesterday, and found signs that we may still have a hedgehog around. :T I've started sorting out clothes to take to a charity shop. I have to face it that there are some items that I just won't wear again, no matter how good quality they are. This isn't a size issue, just that my lifestyle has changed a lot since we moved here. That's about it, really.0 -

A friend of mine writes lists.
She starts each one with two things she's already done, so that she has an instant sense of achievement :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Good idea though :jWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -

:rotfl: Have you told it how to plug itself in yet?
Debt free chick, I forgot to say, well done for how much you've achieved. I know how you feel about the garage. At least twice a week, OH and/or I say that the garage needs a major clear out, but that's as far as it gets. We know that we need a fine day to clear it out but,w hen a fine day arrives, we're always in the garden!0 -
Buffy - ((HUGS)), I sometimes get that `toxic` feeling too, when the place has gone too far, it`s horrible. (I blame mine on the lack of any real pattern to my shifts, makes routine impossible, just end up making lists for when I get a clump of days off...or lurch from one bit of annual leave to the next, wishing my life away and procrastinating a lot!) Your list sounds daunting, but good luck with it anyway.
Laurel - your garden sounds good to me, and you`ve taken what sounds like the sensible `long-view`.
Bearcub - I agree with you on Pink duck - it ain`t cooked!! What a pain about your bathroom, but good that you kept the spare tiles!
FarmersWife - you can`t do everything! Don`t beat yourself up about the garden, and maybe Mr Farmer could cut some bushes back too? I know he`s probably very busy, but hey! So are you!
JPS - wise words, a bit of Blessing-counting does help keep things in perspective.
Snookey - hope your dog is ok.
DebtFreeChick, MessyMare, Kitty & Keran - well done. Enjoy the sense of having got something done. I haven`t...yet.
Messy Status report-
Washed a couple of loads yesterday (uniforms, smalls & towels) all dried indoors overnight as I can`t access washing line without a machete and a couple of jungle bearers...
Kitchen - pots & tops ok, cleaned up after last night`s spag bol - my, how that stuff can get about! Floor is ok if you don`t look down.... am not looking down today. It really needs a good `Deep Clean` sometime..
LR - mostly superficial untidiness, will improve some after DGD is collected by her mama later, as most of it`s her stuff and will be going with her. I might shake the rugs and henry the dust buffaloes later.
Could do with henry-ing hall/stairs/landing soon, too. And tidying bedrrooms...Next week...
Today, weather is perfect for doing a bit outside, dry but not hot. As I CAN only do a bit at a time out there, and tworking long shifts next 2 days, after which the forecast is showery - it makes more sense to go and do a bit out there. Very long grass under the apple trees LOOKS ok, but is hunting cover for next door`s tomcat, and it`s right under the birdfeeders, so I`ll prioritise there, then might liberate part of washing line if I have any stamina left...
Drags self away to find shears and grass-hook.....

I like this thread but only post in it about once every 6 months...
Cannot wait til the kids go back to school tomorrow - this place is a tip! Glitter and glue all over the floor, clothes and 'things' everywhere, extra washing up [grr] what the hell am I going to do in the summer hols?! At least I know its partly due to the weather and because the kids have been indoors more than they usually would.
So, tomorrow - a good washing/drying session, wash up dishes [all of them this time], tidy all the rooms [the surface of them, not a deep clean!] do a workout, and have a sit and listen to the silence...
