    Bearcub - re. my farm shop bargains - my veg man at farm shop said he`s sold more swedes this year than he ever remembers! I told him a few months ago that I`d read on here about cooking them in the microwave so you don`t have to do all that peeling & chopping. He`s told all his customers, and now they`re all buying more swede!

    The saga of the mice continues. He doesnt believe me that they were hiding out under the slow cooker.. he doesnt know how they got onto the kitchen units (mice teleport doesnt he know that)

    But now he has sonic hingies that scare them off, it appears to have worked in the living room (its all quiet on the western front, normally they rustling around under my desk by now... which makes me think they have a) all gone to the bedroom or b)moved downstairs, thankfully I dont like the downstairs neighbour ;)
  • Adela are you Scottish? Haggis and hingies

    Morning Messies. Grey day but fairly bright, which is what we'd like for my friend's funeral service today. Won't get much done at home today, I'm guessing, but other people come first.
    :cool::(Bearcub what's a YD? I just can't work it out

    It's younger daughter. Sorry, YD and ED, YS and ES are what we use on another forum, and I use them without thinking. OH, too, for other half. You all seem to use something different on here, which I can't get my head round. Is DD dear daughter?

    Emms, never been a great fan of swede, although I'll eat it mashed with carrot. Not overly keen on turnip, and can't stand parsnip at all. Even the smell turns my insides. Stems from being given baked parsnip as a child, by a great aunt. I thought it was roast potato - it was a huge shock and, all these years later, I still can't eat the stuff. :(
