Afternoon Messies.BEARCUB!!! Don't say that please, I know I'm not the only person who's lost someone and you must talk about your friend here if you want to!!!! ((big hugs))!!! xxx
I consider myself reprimanded, Cat.;) And thank you. <hug back!>
Kitty, good to hear that your little lad is ok after his fall. Btw, I love 'tumbly drier' - just makes me grin!
Right, short call in only, as I have to pick mum up from the hairdresser. See you later.0 -
Hi everyone!
Newbie to the thread, so hope you dont mind another "messy mare" joining in:)
I must be lazy by nature, as I cant ever recall my house being tidy.
I just cant seem to motivate myself....reckon as my house is very old, it always looks untidy. Got a blue carpet in the living room..and a white cat..so not a good match and no amount off hoovering makes any difference:rotfl:
The kitchen is a nightmare, as I live in social housing and I have had the same old fashioned units since the 80's, so no amount of tidying up ever makes it look good:eek:
Hoping all your posts will inspire me to get off my butt and write up a cleaning plan for tomorrow....will keep you all posted!0 -
Evening all, welcome along lori64. I have the same issues as you. We own our house but cant afford to spend any money on it and it does make it harder to get motivated. I dream about a new bathroom and new carpets but its not going to happen any time soon.
I have taken 7 carrier bags of clothes and shoes to the charity shop this afternoon, all stuff I havent sold or dont think I can sell on ebay. It feels so good to have got rid of that. Didnt manage to get to the tip with the rubbish so that will have to wait. Did a roast dinner tonight so need to go and sort out the devastation in the kitchen next.
For the rest of this week I need to concentrate on DS1s bedroom clearout, get some rubbish to the tip and some things boxed and labeled to go in the loft. Then I can think about decorating for him.0 -
Hello lori64 and welcome.
Was talking to friend about plans to decorate bedroom, today. She said she must come upstairs next time she visits to have a look.:eek::eek::eek::rotfl:0 -
Hi Lori64

Well no cleaning for me tonight ladies.
My cat has miaowed his head off till I have sat down on the sofa and let him get comfy on my knee so it would animal cruelty to move him now. I guess I will just have to sit on the sofa all night.:rotfl:Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.

Adela - you made me chuckle, too. But seriously, why not Bargain to deal with the infestation? Suggest keeping a couple of pet mice if your OH is so keen? They make lovely pets, if they`re tame, whereas the wild ones breeding & running amok can be a serious health hazard.
Jacci - well done on the roots. That`s a job I HATE!!!
Lori - welcome. I have found OFF- white washable rugs brilliant for camouflaging the prodigious hair loss of my Daftie-dog who is also mostly OFF-white (very OFF at present) They look clean for ages, it`s the cheesy niff that gives the game away!
I`m about to ferry OH to work, back later Messies!0 -
Kitty, good to hear that your little lad is ok after his fall. Btw, I love 'tumbly drier' - just makes me grin!
thanks hun
yup tumbly drier!
i refuse to use the normal names for things ... although i do get a lot of funny looks sometimes ... must remember to talk like a grown up in public
Lori64 completely understand what you mean about the house, i used to live in a house that was quite outdated and it always looked awful even when it was clean (which wasnt often:rotfl:) welcome to the messies thread
ok so , the chinese pork and peppers was a hit, also did egg fried rice .. bought myself a wok today.
place is a bit of a mess now though, not too bad.. ill do it bit by bit later
i didnt clean the coffee table, my friend wasnt bothered though:)
i just moved stuff out of the way for us to eat our food lol , i only have a 2 person dining table, so my ds and her ds sit at the table and eat, and me and my friend sit at the coffee table and eat :rotfl:
not too sure if i like the new forum layout, its all in the middle of my screen and squished .... then again i do need glasses, that prob doesnt help lol
Edit - just managed to figure out how to put the forum back onto normal! yay i can see again
sorted

Hello lori64. I think these messies keep a keen eye on each other, which makes you feel they're watching you, which in turn makes you do things. Well, that's the theory, anyway. Works for me - sometimes.

Kitty, I've never grown up, and don't intend to do so anytime soon. As my YD once said, "I spent years wanting to be a grown up, but now I'm there, don't think I like it very much." Quite! :rotfl:
I'm quite proud of myself (should be careful, pride comes before a fall, and all that!), as I've actually cleaned the porch! It gets a bit damp, and had black marks all over the inside. OH said a couple of weeks ago he'd do it, but he hadn't, and I couldn't stand it anymore. J-cloths are some of my closest friends at times.
I've also spent an hour and a half with mum, and another half an hour or so, talking to YD on the phone. Sorted more washing for the WM, and some stuff for a charity bag collection. AND, I've finally laid out some family photos, names and dates for the family tree collection. Still have lots of craft stuff lying around, but I am retired after all. 0 -
Just typed a post and it all disappeared, had to log in again. testing...0
