The thing I have trouble with is persuading my daughter to get rid of 'stuff-that-might-be-useful-one-day; even though it hasn't been touched for years. I can understand her keeping the sentimental stuff, even though I don't hold on to much personally, but keeping bits and bobs just BECAUSE is what I find the most annoying!
I haven't done too much in the last couple of days, and today is the last day off before going back to work (after 11 days) so just feel like chilling, even though there is lots to be done!OD [STRIKE] £2600 [/STRIKE] £0 :j Loan [STRIKE]£9500.00[/STRIKE] £0 :j Car [STRIKE]£3150[/STRIKE] £0 :j Moving Costs [STRIKE]£1300[/STRIKE] £0 :j Savings £1150 :j

I'm back from work where my boss praised me for doing such a good job, where I did extra stuff on top of my usual, where I can whizz through the task with no problem!!! My kids have gone out with their father and I have no excuse so I'm going to clear the kitchen table of the ironing. Just as soon as I've finished this cup of tea!!0

Whey hey ive actually started....tv is off, music is on, kids are in garden, windows are open and i'm....sat on here not wanting to move:o
Love it and so share the feeling.:rotfl:
Well yesterday i got my grandaughter to sort all her toys into storage boxes and labelled them up so she can keep things tidy in the right boxes . yeah i can see that lasting . was so nice last night to sit down without a floor full of toys. Playdoh has finally gone in the bin i hate the stuff and was sick of scraping it off the floor.
Going shopping today then meant to be ironing but think that will wait till morning. might fill wall ready for painting instead . Ordered a larder unit to store things better in the kitchen and that should be here tomorrow so need to get painting done.
My bathrooms need doing too but that'll have to wait.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Yikes!
I would pick this thread to confess on!
In my defence, the boxes dumped in the bedroom by husband have now been sorted, and so it's back to being clutter-free in here again apart from inside the wardrobe.
While looking through the attic last week to find more clutter to dump on me, husband found a nice royal blue shirt that he didn't know he had, probably abandoned because it had long sleeves, and he prefers short. I'm breaking off from decluttering for the moment to alter it for him by hand. This is because I have deemed it an Urgent Job, and not because I fancy sitting around stitching in front of the telly and watching the final of The World Snooker Championships. Not much, anyway - it's a tough job, but someone's gotta do itFreddie Starr Ate My Signature

I posted something on Freecycle and one of the peeps who wanted it was an old (as in nearly 20 years ago) associate whom I'd lost touch with. Karmic debt said it had to go her way as she'd once given me a box of stuff which had fetched £20 at a bootfair and we've got together and swapped contact details...a friendship revived!
Went to the allotmentino just long enough to do a quick errand because there's a howling gale blowing up there.
Came home and had a lightbulb moment; if I unpacked something from the box it came in, it could go there and that would mean I could get something else off the bedroom floor and onto a shelf. I'm so pleased that I keep opening the cupboard and grinning at it.
And, somebody else on Freecycle is asking for something which I have lurking in a cupboard and I have posted back to see if he wants it (fingers crossed) and a book I turfed out has just sold online for what I paid for it new.......:rotfl:£15 fine english pounds in my hot little hand. And I'm caught up with the shredding.

Hi to the new and old messy heads. The taking of photoes of things you treasure is a great idea. Another idea with your daughters baby clothes are to take one or two items and make a memory box for your daughter. The other clothes sell on ebay in the retro section. At least the clothing will be used and not sat in a drawer. Remember objects dont have feelings and no one can take your memories.
The more stuff you buy the more time you have to spend looking after it. Lol, you can tell Iv been reading the clutter books.0 -
Well I'm currently sat among the bombsite I have created today - having a cup of tea and hoping I can find the momentum to carry on and finish it off so its nice and tidy!
Yesterday afternoon I did some gardening and planted some seeds, today so far I have cleaned the carpet, washed some more walls, emptied a couple of the drawers under the bed and filled it with other stuff that needed storing, am working my way through my drawers of t-shirts etc to see what needs chucking and rearranging them, my chickpeas have finished cooking ready to make spinach and chickpea curry tonight and freeze the rest for other dishes as they can be chucked in frozen
Have a couple of bags of stuff to go to the tip (I miss them after my 3 trips there last week :rotfl:) ..... must finish jobs first ....
Back to w*rk tomorrow  - only 4 days to the weekend though0 -
