thanks Byatt, YL and kitty xxx
YL big hugs to you and your little boy, really hope he's better soon ((xx))
Well done everyone who's been doing stuff today, I've done one load of dishes and got another in the sink ready to do:) Bagged up some rubbish, I think I'm either going to have to take all my bags to the dump or sneak down to the communal bins at 3am I've got so many!:o0 -
ps I'm really loving that Emm has started something here with the hospital donation info. I wonder if it could be posted in a new thread either here or on another section?(it's not OS but I really think it would do best here:o).0

Today I have put one load into TD ready for washing tomorrow. Tidied some stuff in spare room so I can have a bit more room. Cooked dinner for OH & I.
Managed to borrow a small dog crate for the second kitten as vivarium really not suitable. Maddy ( the kitten in the rabbit cage ) is already allowing me to stroke her and ever rubbed against my finger tonight......:j slow progress but definitely a step in the right direction. The other little one is spitting and lunging and obviously terrified so this one will take a lot longer to trust people methinks.
Really need to make a start in the garden, but just lack the energy to get going. Think my get up and go left years ago0 -
Today I have done one washload....pleasure was going out for dinner!!!
Repeat to self..I must do more tomoz!!0 -
I've done nothing today, really. Sorted out the dried washing, and put some away, actually finished ONE birthday card, but have cut lots of bits to put together tomorrow. It was a case of going into the conservatory, and sorting through the cupboard to find either ready made card blanks or find the right colour card to make into card blanks. Didn't do either. I have made some labels for some family pics though. Small effort, but it all helps (but only a tiny bit!:o)0

Hi All
Sorry I have been MIA, just catching up many pages.
I felt ill and rough at the beginning at the week, and due to people being off\backlog etc I have been working 7am-7pm each day and so have been shattered when I get in.
I havent logged on and haven't really done much other than try and spend a bit of time with the kids before heading to bed at the same time as them
The house has basically been ignored all week apart from the bare minimum of loading\running DW each day, and I have done a few loads of washing and ironed enough clothes to wear day along the way.
I only actually get paid from 9 - 5 so it's caused a few heated discussions with DH, so I am going to try and be more forceful next week and stick to my hours, and then maybe my bosses will see that we need more staff.
Cat - I am really sorry to hear the sad news, both you and your DS are in my thoughts.
Frugal - Congrats on the job (Owed from many pages ago)
Emm - I had no idea about the hosp donations being needed in that way so will definately contribute.Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -

Re razors-something else that shocked me is that there's nowhere to wash your clothes-friends or relatives do them for you or you live in hospital nightclothes. I know why they do it-hospital clothes can be boiled and sterilised en masse. But it's not good for the self esteem. Not good at all. There was a girl on the ward I was on whose colostomy bag leaked...she'd been brought 200 miles in an ambulance for her op and hardly saw her family at all. She was devastated. A sympathetic nurse took her clothes home to wash, and a relative of mine brought in two lovely new pairs of pyjamas for her the next time they visited. But dignity shouldn't be at the discretion of strangers.import this0
