The news is, his body is shutting down and the family have been called in, DS undecided about whether to go.
eta he doesn't want to. Think he can't face everyone's grief if he does. I hope they'll understand. Problem is, I want to go but I really can't though he says I can

I would go, this is the last opportunity you will have. Huge hugs to you and your family, he will take great comfort from people who care for him being there.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

Cat I really feel for you - and only you and your DS can know what is right for both of you. At least your DS has had recent positive contact with his dad and has these times to look back on.
Thoughts are with you both, take care of one another. Hugs xxxx0 -
Just posting quickly to say so sorry Cat, try not to feel bad whatever you choose to do. There aren't words really... just so sorry.I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

YL - if it wasn't for the mention of kids, I'd be worrying that I had a split personality and you were my alter ego. Certainly sounds like we've got the same fella although mine was tucked up in bed at that time this morning so no bigamy risk! He's not getting the "the bathroom really needs cleaning" hints. Even when I say it following his "I'm bored at home all day. What am I supposed to do while you're at work all day" moans. At least he has started doing the washing up now though ;-)
Oh that is so funny. Is there really another fella out there as bad as mine, really ?????????
Cat dont beat yourself up hun. When my hubbys Dad was poorly he had promised to go and see him one night on his way home from work. Anyway hubby had had a crap day at work and was tired so he just came home with the intention of seeing his Dad the next day. His Dad died at 11pm that night. Hubby felt terrible and it was a long time before he got over it, but he wasnt to know and it wouldnt have made any difference. Losing someone is never easy, whatever the circumstances. If it helps a little I am sure there are lots of people thinking of you and your DS right now.0 -
