gosh - pages and pages to catch up on! Hugs to Rummer, Laurel and anybody else who needs them, so sorry to hear your bad news :(:(

I was in the middle of my "plans" on Friday night, and had decluttered one drawer full of old meds, when my friend texted and asked me to go for a quick drink across in the pub - well, you can guess where this story goes.....one drink led to 6 or 7, which led to me chatting to a girl at the jukebox, which led to us going clubbing! And I'm STILL worn out. Still, I met someone who knows DD1 and she thought I was 26 so that made my night when I told her I was actually DDs mum!:D

Have done nothing since, went to see DS's dad in hospital last night, seemed very ill and at the point of "giving up" which made me mad (now he has DS back in his life, he has more to live for than when he first got ill!). But he called tonight and sounded brighter:)

Tomorrow I WILL get on with things, starting with clearing all the CDs out the bedroom and kitchen again (superstar DJ reared her ugly head when she rolled in at 4am:o)

Hugs all, and well done to all busy Messies xxx
  • Hi everyone,

I'm a lurker too, and may not have much time to post, but I'd like to comment on merlot123 and frugal's bit about drastic action when visitors are coming: I put up a curtain across a large alcove in my sitting room, and stuffed everything behind it that didn't have a ready home. When my aunty and uncle arrived (elderly relatives who are visiting me in my own home for the first time, and knew my houseproud mum), and were having coffee, we were talking about the renovations to the house (which has been in the process of being renovated for the last five years, sigh) and he proudly told them about the lime pointing he was learning to do AND PULLED BACK THE ALCOVE CURTAIN TO SHOW THEM!!!! I didn't know where to look or what to say, and in the end I had to make out that it was funny in front of the relatives and dh, but afterwards.........he learned that it was not.

Hi all, have only got time to skim through. Rummer, so sorry to hear about your rabbit, hope you are feeling OK.

We have to bring the hamsters downstairs when the kids go to bed and take the cages back up on a morning. Its not a hassle really except if they are making lots of noise when you are trying to watch telly! The hamsters dont keep the kids awake - its us that cant sleep for all the rattling around!

Have spent the whole afternoon listing stuff on Ebay. DS2 is growing like mad so have had a massive clear out of his clothes and shoes. I am hoping to make some money because we need to go shopping and buy him some new things!

Right, got to run, need to get everyone organised for morning!
  • I had SUCH plans.

and then I fell asleep. (having first got up late)

conservatory is still a mess. room is a mess. I only cleaned out the car and changed my sheets. had a big Sunday dinner and still have guinea pigs and hamster to clean out. plus am hungry
    arghhhh.
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Oh plumtree :rotfl:
Reminds me of the first time I got my boiler serviced. Didn't know the engineer would want to get into the airing cupboard.
You can probably guess - he opened the door and towels, blankets and all kinds of non-airing-cupboard-things fell out over him!!! He took it well!

Well its been a fairly productive weekend. Yesterday went for a long walk along the canal finishing with huge lunch in pub at about half 3, which meant no need to mess kitchen up cooking dinner! :rotfl:

Today we had a session tidying up the storeroom so now the clothes drier can go in there and the inside hallway is completely clear. Apart from the new snow boots that we went out to buy after! Managed another load of laundry too so there's just towels to wash atm. Full roast dinner tonight though so once again kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off. No room to even pour out a bowl of cereal in the morning let alone put a loaf in the BM or make sandwiches from it so I guess washing up is going to have to happen tonight. Which means I can't leave it for OH to do while I'm at work. Just hoping he takes the hint to do it tonight... ;)

  • we just put the last of the Christmas stuff away. And then I turned round and found a stocking left out. grrrrrrrr.

I forced myself to take it down Friday night. was so stroppy about it all I don't think it was worth it!

    Morning Messies

I was supposed to be out all day today but plans have changed so I have a whole day of clearing clutter/ebaying/tidying etc (yeah right, as if!).... But I also need to do my tax return *yawn* and I would like to fit in a 45 min walk as part of my NYR to get fit and lose weight.

So.... Thought I would come here and make a list and see if I can complete it!!!

    Put 3 things on ebay
Do at least 2 loads of washing
    Sort kitchen
    Throw away 10 items
    Start tax return
    Walk 45 minutes
Retrieve items from next doors garden, blown around by recent storm
    Empty bathroom bin
    Put up new bird feeders
Clear coffee table and sofa :D

That is easily achievable IF I get on with it :D

What will you be doing today?
Putting these winter preps here so I don't forget!

Curtain pole installed in the living room
    Paint curtain pole
Window quilts for landing window & french door
Add shrink film to the kitchen door & insulate
    Insulate front door
Bubble wrap windows & french door
    Wash front door curtain
    Blind for the bathroom
Find wrist warmers & the wool socks!
    Wash heated throws
    Wash duvet & wool blankets
Buy vest tops to go under clothes and PJs
Buy nets for bathroom and kitchen
Buy or make blind for kitchen
