I got a sewing machine too, but no idea wot to do wiv it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know from reading your posts on OS daily that you have a little grandaughter. Why not make her a little apron, toy bag or even her own special cushion cover, you could put zips, buttons and other fasteners on it if she is small enough to need help with dressing. Come on over to the Sewing Annexe thread and meet some other sewers and get some ideas.
jpscloud glad you got your sewing machine going. Mine wasn't working properly the other day nearly drove me mad, turned out I didn't have the needle in properly!!!!!!
Housewise I am getting sorted slowly but still have some hotspots and far too much stuff in cupboards and drawers. have been reading regularly but not posting. Still 2012 is a New Year and a new start. Onward and upward!!!

Hi all. Well Iv managed to change our bedding and cleared moutains of boxes that held dd toys. The house is looking quiet tidy despite dd trying to leave trails of destruction wherever she goes. Its dd 9th birthday tommorrow so its macdonalds and the buying of club penguin membership.
Need to get out of the house as I feel closed in. Last time I went outside was before xmas.
Tylers mum I remember the work involved in a new baby and trying to keep on top of things. Try to rest as much as possible. Housework will be there till the cows come home.

Went into Argos for an external hard drive but there appears to be a national shortage. I wanted to download some organising software called Evernote but I've no room on here at all.

Wow...I've looked, and there are plenty on Amazon and at 7dayshop.com, but they've got so expensive...as much for 500Gb as I paid for 1 Tb last year. Can you remember *anything* to do with computers ever going up in price before???? Definitely a shortage...

Spot on laurel, I don't ever remember this happening before, my dad got his 1TB one for, as you say, what they're charging for 500GB now, that was around a year ago:( I've got 2TB for £75 and I doubt I'd get an awful lot better than that just now.

    LOL - whatting some towels???:)

Grr, just realised the paint I was going to use obviously didn't have the lid on properly, it looks minging:D Looks like a trip to bl***y Mr T which I can do without....
:) Jelly-rolling seems to be Amercicanism for rolling towels up in cupboards instead of folding them. It makes them easier to grab hold of. Sceptics (or even skeptics if there are any Amrecians in the house cos I'm not one) try it and be amazed.

Mount Washmore is being assaulted as we speak. Mum did an evenign load, an overnight load, an early-morning load and has now started Load 4.

When they're done she plans to strip the beds and do the nets. Possessed by the laundry demon, help meeeeeeee!

Going to town now for a mooch. Catch you laters.

    Morning messies!

I've been up in the loft and brought down several large bags of old clothes and denim etc. - I am now going to go and look on various threads here and on other sites for ideas on what to make with them all! This is my first opportunity to have a full day doing whatever I please - I'm going to really enjoy it.

See you in a bit when I emerge from mountains of fabric all to be magically transformed into beautiful things for the home!!

Ah, thank you! I jelly roll already then!
Well it's a filthy day here, these howling winds and driving rain are really starting to get on my nerves! Did my painting last night, thinking I could just "patch up" but as a smoker, I'm looking at it and realising I'll have to do the whole flipping lot :(:( DDs home around 4ish so I'm going to sort the kitchen out, make a start on bedrooms - just binning rubbish, and phone the bl**dy washing machine man!!

eta been googling and the hard drive shortage is apparently because of the floods in Thailand. Feel lucky to get what I did, hopefully it's not a crock of carp!!! :D

Afternoon all! My new breadmaker has inspired me to attempt a life of domestic-goddess-ery for 2012. Woke up this morning fully intending to attack the entire house (well the habitable "flat" we're living in at least!) to make it all immaculate for New Year following my abject failure to do anything about the place before Christmas. Started off by stripping the bed and putting a load on. Then arrived home from the docs to find that OH has made plans to go and stay on a friend's canal boat over the new year weekend. Looking forward to playing on the boat again but I guess that means that the housework will have to wait for another year :rotfl:

I'm in awe of everyone braving the shops already. I'm steadily working my way through the contents of the fridge and freezer trying to find things to eat so we don't even need to visit the supermarket until the holiday madness dies down. Thankfully I had stocked up on breadmaker stuff before xmas and OH is quite happy filling up on fresh made bread at the moment!

sonastin I meant to go to the shops on Boxing Day, I had my eye on some of the Boots No7 gift sets, but I was too tired to go and by the time I went last night everything was sold out! Oh well, I'll live without:) As for food shopping - I'll have to do it soon - with DDs and DS not being here, I've been living on sandwiches, chocolates, Jelly Babies and Liquorice Allsorts for 3 days! Back to reality later!

Fridge decluttered, one sinkful of glasses washed, one bag of rubbish taken out so far:)

What a lovely way to spend NY, on a canal boat! Stuff the housework!! I've always wanted to go boating but I think I might prefer it in summer lol x
