  • I remember being in the nativity play in the church one year...had to do half of my 'bit', wait for something to happen (we were up in the pulpit) and then say the other half. Unfortunately the classmates acting hadn't done their bit...apparently me whispering 'come on, come on, hurry up' could be heard by the whole church...I had forgotten there was a microphone! According to my parents that made the whole thing worthwhile!

Hi Andrea (hope I've picked that up right!) - I LOVED reading about your decoration collection, it sounds so lovely and really interesting! Do you keep any of the more unusual decorations out for the rest of the year? I think it would pain me to have to pack them away for 11 months!! Hope your jewellry turns up, that's really awful :(

Hart, hi, I need to go back to bed just READING about all the stuff you do!!:o

Beemuzed - join the club! Good luck with today!:)

Rummer, SO glad you're feeling better! x

snookey, 6 hours:eek: oh my lord - I'm rubbish at wrapping presents, they always look such a mess!

Helen, enjoy the concert, I always had to go to these things whether mine were doing anything or not, I know it's awful to say but I am sort of glad those days are over! DD2 was Mary in her nursery nativity one year though, that was good:)

hello MM (lol@your story!!:D) and Emm too:)

Didn't sleep till about 4 last night, might need to get something for it because it's getting very irritating - have had a sleeping pill beginning with Z before but it just didn't touch me, apparently it works very well for some but has no effect on others. So I'm not long up, had coffee and toast and came on here. Nothing at all done yet, I feel put to shame by Helen and Rummer! Got to go up to bank soon and put a cheque in, and need to get a few Xmas cards done tonight to give to mum to send/deliver. Still not feeling 100%, but a bit better:j Hugs to all xxx

Cats caught the rat so no more ratty.

I put a second coat of varnish on the front livingroom only for cat paw prints to appear grr. Anyhow Ill finish the third coat and top it with yaught varnish.
Cat my sleep is out too. Iv been up later and later and then after dd goes to school I catch up. Ill have to try and sort it out as dear mum will want to go out during the day.

Helen we have just found out that as we dont have tickets we cant go to our daughters play. Ill see in the morning if we can bunk in.

    Jobs on my list to do;

    finish livingroom floor,
repaint kitchen where water has leaked,
    paint bathroom door,
paint over marks on bathroom wall,
stick back tiles that came off due to leak in the kitchen ,
    Put xmas tree up,
    Generally tidy and clean house.

That should keep me busy up to xmas.

Right Im off to finish the varnishing. See you all later.

Hi Hart44 glad to see you back... puppies are such hard work but they do make you glad to be alive :D

I've done nothing except the washing up (and considering it's only me, that's not really much to shout about!)

Will shortly be off to bed - only 4 more get ups though!

Helen, my cold has been like that for over a week now - can't breathe at night, horrible dry mouth etc. I keep a bottle of tonic water on my bedside table and swig a bit of that if I wake with a dry mouth now... it's lovely if I can be bothered to wake up to do it!

  • (((hugs))) JPS , that sounds like a rotten cold :(

Done a mountain of washing up (how is it that OH has used 6 dinner plates since lunchtime yesterday?), yesterday I changed the bed, sorted through my clothes, hoovered upstairs, finished wrapping presents, and cleared up the dog's leavings (ick) - it's a good job he's beautiful and affectionate!

Snookey - thats a real shame and I hope you get to see it

Please don't think I was being horriblle about my DD - it wasn't a school play, it was the choir that she doesn't belong to doing the Carol Service and the narrators had let them down so at the last minute they asked a few kids to step in and help. She had 1 line to deliver lol. It was freezing in the Church but they did put on a good show [ish]

MM I wonder that about my kids, how can they get through 30 glasses in what seems like a day?:D

Hope you get to go too snookey:)

    All dishes done!:j
    Microwave and surfaces cleaned.

Feel so much better now the kitchen is back under control, though there's still a lot I could do - clean hob, declutter fridge, mop floor, clean windows and units.....aaargh!!!

Only 4 Christmas cards written, but then I only had four left, need to get up at a reasonable time tomorrow and get more. It's very wet here now and the wind is picking up, though tomorrow afternoon is meant to be worse - you don't know what to believe!

Want to go to bed soon but don't think I'll sleep - but don't have the energy to put the time to good use:o

Thanks Cat! They all go away, but this year I put the tree up earlier than usual, so that I have more time to enjoy them. Last year they went up Dec 23 and a fortnight later they were down.
There must be somewhere in the range of 200 -250 decorations up, possibly more. Some decorations are very small.
Friend has promised to pop round and help me to tidy the lounge fully on Wed, woo-hoo.
