lol candygirl, I won't panic until the 23rd!:D

Think I might have stirred my "tablet" too much - there was huge spillage in the microwave, so after I'd put the main stuff in the tin, I scooped up the spillage (the microwave was clean!) and put it in a big, deep jar lid - just checked and that stuff is mostly tablet (albeit very crumbly), and it wasn't stirred at all. Hmmm.....

eta Frugal, I applaud myself getting up and dressed :D I think you've had a very productive day!
  • Hello fellow friends in messdom,
Been away for ages as I work on the pc to make my living and sometimes it's all a bit much, spend hours staring at a screen for work, need to do something else for play.

I'm cursing my messiness, I've mislaid some jewellery that I took down to Wales with me for my brother's 60th birthday bash. All my most precious pieces, given by family. I looked where I thought they were, but no.
Because I'm disabled I have a cleaner and I have an awful feeling she may have discarded them accidentally as they were in a small bag for light travel, rather than a box. Or my son, who hates any mess that isn't his own, may have done so.

On the up front, after hours and hours the tree is up and decorated. I've had the same tree for 31 Christmases (ie since 1981). It was bought in a German Woolworth's along with some standard decorations. At a Christmas market we found some lovely traditional unpainted wooden decorations.
Every year more decorations go on, as collecting them is my only 'collect' hobby. I have family and friends holiday decoration souvenirs from Canada, USA, Australia, France, Netherlands, Estonia, Ireland, (the North and the Republic) various parts of Scotland, Cornwall*, Wales, various parts of England and ta-da, Bethlehem (Daughter was a Theology student). Plus when I was a child minder many years ago I made loads of decorations as 'demonstration pieces' for my charges, hoping they would want to make one too. They almost always did.*Separate nation in my book.
I've also bought some mail order from Latvia and Lithuania and the Nordic nations look tempting..
Some are really unusual, like the felt representation of the famous Skating Minister, a little straw goat from Lithuania or an Estonian decoration that is really a carved wooden brooch of oak leaves.
Anyway it's all up. Now to get the storage bags back upstairs.....
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

Hi everyone. Hugs for those feeling under the weather.

Well today Iv been staining and varnishing the front room. My back and knees are aching with all the kneeling. Im ticking off boxes of outstanding diy jobs. Mother is coming for a few days on the 19th and Iv said she could stay with me this time. Hopefully oh and mother will not get on each others nerves this time. Pigs might fly, lol.
All kids xmas presents in. I spent six hours wrapping yesterday and Iv still got more. DD has lots of presents although not expensive ones bar a few. DS has fewer presents but we had to buy a new computer for him due to his college course and so we have spent more on him this year. Next year will be scrooge xmas or so Iv told the kids.
Im determined to be debt free by next summer .
Helen I had to scramble through the cupboards to find the xmas presents. I always find some at the end of xmas stuffed in some obscure place.
We have a little visitor , a baby RAT!!!., Cats brought it in . I did catch it in a towel but it jumped . Cats are waiting for it to appear from behind the couch in the front room. Im daft as I felt sorry for it when the cats had it cornered. It was screaming but calmed down once I picked it up. Ill have to leave it to the cats now.:(
I know they carry horrible things but they are still cute.
    Love and hugs to everyone.

    Good Morning

I have been awake since 3  however on the upside I feel much better, finally! Hope the rest of you are feeling a bit perkier :)

My time has not been wasted as I have done a laundry dried one and I have another two washing and drying as I type. Just about to tidy the mess my OH left on the table last night too. I had a lot of paperwork to do and I have ploughed through a lot of that this morning too which has taken a load off :D

As early as it is I do like having the house to myself and everything is so blissfully quiet. Here is to a good day for all of us :T

    Hello Hart

    You've been busy!!

Well the Xmas pressies are now sorted into piles - need to wrap teacher pressies asap so that will be one less lot to deal with.
Tonight I have to go to a Carol Service where DD is not in the choir but is delivering 1, yes 1 line in a speach!! So I have to take her there [8 miles away] go the service and then bring her back - not impressed that the Teacher told her she was doing it!! It'll take 2 hours out of my stretched time - I wouldn't mind if she was singing or saying more but honestly - one line!!!!

Started writing Xmas cards out - hate doing that job

    House is a flippin tip

I'm coughing like mad and blocked up

    Moan, moan, whinge hehe

    Have a good day everyone

    Helen x
