  • Nail polish remover Frugal, tis the way forward!

I am in the middle of a furniture move bad idea on a dark dismal Sunday afternoon!

I am pushing on for reasons unknown. That elusive I will love it when it is tidy feeling!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Tomorrow we go to fetch my two boys home from university. It will be lovely to have them home but oh dear, they are even messier than I am. At least once we get into the school holidays my DD will tidy her bedroom because Father Christmas doesn't come to untidy bedrooms.:)

She is 17 but it still works because she knows she won't get her presents until I can walk across her bedroom floor.:rotfl:
  • Just had a quick read with a coffee - `well done`s to folks who have done stuff..`there there`s to those who haven`t.
I`ve been out this afternoon and nearly finished pressie-shopping. All adults sorted now.(Phew!)
I`ve sat down to recover before making fire & cooking and I JUST HAD A REVELATION!!
There really is NO POINT in my struggling to tidy the house till AFTER the pressies are out of the way (as in given out) but THEN I shall have several empty folding storage crates with which I shall do wonders! Hopefully by New Year. I feel better already for deciding that. I shall of course strive to keep LR (especially settee) and kitchen reasonable, but apart from cooking & essential laundry, THAT`S IT!
Pats self on head approvingly & drags self away from pc again...

Good idea Emm! I keep thinking of those boxes of clutter which were shoved in cupboards, and the clutter building up elsewhere too - but I'm going to follow your good example and give myself at least 3 weeks off from worrying about it! Dishes, rubbish out the LR, cooking, and washing (IF the bloomin' washing machine man ever gets back in touch!) - that'll do till the New Year:D

Choking on catarrh here, I know I had some Covonia Catarrh Relief syrup which is the only thing I've found that helps, but of course, being a Messy, I can't find it anywhere:o

Made Quorn "chicken" curry for tea for DD1, DS and myself, sausage/mash/broccoli for curryphobe DD2. Managed some dishes too, so kitchen looking a little less:eek: Took rubbish out. Erm....that's it.Oh - swept kitchen floor (mostly Sugar Puffs - don't get them often but bought some this week and I can't help having a handful every time I see them!)

    Tablet is still toffee!:o

I've ironed for an hour and got rid of half the pile

Done the jobs I wanted to do

Need to have some food now and I also want to make some cookies

CAT - what do you think went wrong with the Tablet/Toffee - I love Tablet and bookmarked one of the recipes on the thread but I'm wary about making it

Tomorrow I'm planning to be mega busy so I'm not turning the comp on till I absolutely have to!! Cos I worked yesterday I need to catch up with the stuff I planned to do then - sorting out Xmas pressies

    Love and hugs to all

Hugs Cat and Helen I hope you are both feeling better soon.

Today I was helping a good friend out at a craft fair which was lovely and it gave me plenty of time to crochet and natter :D then my darling OH took me out for lunch and to see the xmas lights. I had a wee disco nap when I got in too :o

Now I am wide awake again I have put on a laundry and folded the clean laundry that was in the bedroom. No matter how much I have tried to do this week the mess has stubbornly stayed put  as I type I can see the living room table covered in clutter which is so frustrating!

thanks Rummer:) x Hope you're feeling better today too! Sounds like a nice day, I always mean to go into Glasgow and see the lights but never get round to it! We did go in and see "Philadelphia" though, while they were busy dismantling everything:o

Helen, I've no idea, maybe I didn't stir enough after cooking, I don't know:o Some bits that I scraped out the bowl at the very end, and dribbled on top of what I'd already put in the tin - well, that's tablet - but we're talking slivers!:rotfl:I have read that you can remelt it - but I'll need a much bigger bowl this time!

Well done with the ironing Helen! Especially when you're feeling rough:( I still can't get down to ironing, and was thinking, if I gave you my ironing, what job would you give to me?:D Note - I don't do paperwork or ovens, and I hate washing glasses!:D

Cat - come and sort out my Xmas pressies - they are hidden all over the place and I can't remember where!! Just opened a kitchen cupboard with baking stuff in it and found 2 carrier bags with ???? in them, couldn't look as DD was in the Kitchen, its gonna take me all day just to find the stuff let alone sort it out!! Dreading doing it as its a task I hate doing and each year I think "right, never again, next time I'll put them away in 1 place" but I never do lol

Shame about the Tablet, I'll make it this week and report back - taken on board your tip about stirring it [mind you I love toffee too]

    Helen x

Back to the X Factor now - want Marcus to win but think Little Muffins may do it!!

That sounds like a very good swap to me!:D I haven't even bought ONE present yet:o Don't have too many to buy, but I do wish I could wait until the sales to do it! Better get started this week, and not on Xmas Eve as is usual.....:o

Re the tablet - if there is the remotest chance of messing something up - I'll find a way to do it! I'm sure yours will be fine! I used scottish minnie's microwave recipe.

Going to clear my bed of carp soon and retire for the night, I sneezed this morning and my right ear has been blocked ever since, very annoying:rotfl:

    goodnight everyone (((Hugs))) xxx
