I feel your pain . My F-I-L went upstairs with his trainers on (we're a 'shoes off upstairs' household :rotfl:) He walked in a load of mud into the spare bedroom and then pointing at it, asked me when I last hoovered!!

 Ask him when he last used a doormat! Cheeky so and so!

how do i manage at getting my motivation back after a busy long weekend?

Well done to all you managing with the decluttering :T.

Well, I don't know if it would work for you but when I lose my motivation, I just do small jobs around the house. The feeling of satisfaction leads me to do more and more and more and the Queen of De-clutter is back :rotfl: It takes a long time for me to find my crown, mind :rotfl:

Remember the small, baby steps, and just do a little something. Then d a little something more a little later. Then maybe the adverts break or when you put the kettle on later. The motivation you had will come back if you don't over face yourself. I think! Hope! Keep telling myself that as I sit here looking through threads, lol. Must get up and do something myself.

  • Hello!

    Got some motivation today:

Did 2 lots of dishes (there are 2 of us??????????? do they breed????????). Hoovered right through. Wiped kitchen over. Wiped bathroom floor.

Also - went shopping which I detest. I had to buy a sports bra.........:oit has a clippy thing at the back and I almost strangled myself. I had visions of yelling help for the shop assistant..........that was a workout in itself!

    Laters people...............

    1 step closer
If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
    I'm not short - I'm condensed awesome! :p

OMG some of you have done so much work you won't be able to be members of the 'messy club' for much longer. I on the other hand have spent all day in pointless meetings at work so have done absolutely nothing! In a mo I will make dinner and clean up after that, and take the rubbish out as it is collection day tomorrow, and that will probably be the sum total of my efforts today.

By the way, Imataloss, I just wanted to say thanks for the inspiration words in your signature. For various personal reasons, things have been really tough for me lately and your signature reminded me to take each day as it comes and to stop worrying about tomorrow and all the other days that follow it.

    Dropped off DS!

Made it onto my training course halfway through a keynote on positive psychology.

The speaker was talking about how a working mother had tackled him at the end of one of his speeches, and told him that even he couldn't find a positive spin on coming home and having to unload the dishwasher.

Well, apparently we could choose to be grateful we *have* a dishwasher, or use it as a chance to boogie around the kitchen.

I offer this wisdom for your consideration...worth a go??? :p

That's what I try to tell myself every time I receive the gas and electricity bills. Doesn't work all the time though... :o
  • Been trying to kick start myself all day just felt really tired....Shopping (the dreaded supermarket) plus bank visit this morning :( then home for lunch.

Finally got the dog bed washed, but too late to hang out today. Did get the grass raked up from the lawn (well it's a large patch of grass and I'm hoping if I keep calling it this it will try to live up to the name). Cooked meal then sat and watched TV and flitted up to computer!

Just want to go to bed, but will make sure I put the dishwasher on before I turn in.

This baby is finding taking any steps today really hard.

Do you ever think we messies do too much?

This thread is full of decorating, gardening, shed demolition, decluttering...and that's on top of regular housework.

No wonder people have tired and off-days...

Three cheers for everything we managed to do today, and everything we didn't will wait x
