Thank you Gilly for sharing your good news with us all. Massive hugs to all who need them - and that's a lot of you... What a lovely, healthy looking baby little Kobe is!

My cleaner has been this morning so my kitchen and bathroom are immaculate again.

Re ironing haters. If you can afford one, I really, really recommend the steam generator irons. I was lucky enough to get one to review for free from Amazon Vine. (Amazon invite some people who post reviews on their site to become Vine members; we can choose items to review, though you have to be quick off the mark to get decent stuff, and we get to keep them.)

Anyway, I was sent a Philips steam generator iron and it slashes ironing time - an hour's ironing takes fifteen minutes now. If I'm not going out I do tend to wear items straight off my overstairs drying rack.

The steam generator irons are fantastic for getting really deeply creased items smooth again, several items that I seldom wore due to their 'creaseability' (linen and silk trousers) are now worn regularly.

Congratulations Gilly, that's fantastic news!! We will have a messy wedding!!

Quick update on my day, I have
    [STRIKE]

-clean the hall and lounge (I didn't get around to them last week.)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]-clean cloakroom
    -tidy + hoover through upstairs
    -hoover through downstairs
    -wash hoover filter[/STRIKE]
-washing (lots to do inc. spare bed bedding + towels) Now on 4th load, looking a bit grey outside, hoping it doesn't rain!
    [STRIKE]-Bleach sink[/STRIKE]
-Reorganise playroom (couple of big toys to move upstairs, some to come down)Have made a start, bits have gone up, still some to come back down
    -mealplan for the week
-shopping list from mealplan (keep as low cost as poss, kids away later in week so should be doable)
-ebay 5 items (determined to clear the conservatory by end of Sep, there are boxes and boxes full of stuff to be ebayed in there. Anything not gone by then will the CS. I will ebay 5 a day until all gone. Then my wardrobe needs clearing out too...)
-Ironing (do all of it! Spent 5 hours in 3 days ironing last week to clear the 4 piles, need to keep on top of it now so will do all ironing generated by the washing today)

House is looking much better, and I feel better for it. Have also spoken to 2 of my sisters who are out of the country via Skype so feeling happy.

Hugs to all who need them. Hope everyone is having productive and happy days.

    Afternoon everyone

Hugs all round [even if you don't need one]

I started papering DD's room only to find that I didn't have enough paper to do the 2 walls cos of the pattern size [I only got 3 drops from a roll] so I've done 1 wall and painted the other so thats the walls done, I'm painting shelves too and they have had a couple of coats [need 2 more] I've tacked up the Duvet cover so just need to machine that, I also need to put her room back to normal.

Has anyone ever covered drawer fronts with wallpaper - her chest of drawers has pink fronts [melamine] and I wondered if I could cover them with wallpaper to match them in. Off to have a play around and see if I can sand them down and then glue the paper on

    Have a good day everyone

    Helen x

PS - Gilly, I do my housework wearing my rings but take them off when I'm cake making - have a fear of them getting in the mix and then being eaten by someone hehe

Frugal sorry to hear of your sad loss.

Even though I am strapped for cash, I did a rash thing today and bought 6 vintage shot glasses in a charity shop for £1.30 (for 6 not each) and these will be washed and sold either via ebay or through one of my glass contacts. I also went out for coffee and cake with a friend and bought some nice peppermint foot cream (organic and handmade). Naughty I know but I felt I deserved a treat:) Nipped to Wilkinsons today as well and came out with some scourers, a bottle of tomato food, some fabric softener (I thought I would try their own brand), some latex free rubber gloves, an air freshener and 12 loo rolls.

Food wise - zip but I have a plan tomorrow to nip to Waitrose in Droitwich and annoy them by paying for my shopping in LVs (it is the only shop around here that will take them other than Starbucks and a girl cannot live on Starbucks). I earn LVs from that research company who doesnt like to be named..easier to be paid in LVs than faff with paypal (paypal goes to my business account anyway).

I shall do small amounts and try not to be overwhelmed by everything. Curse that twit that I worked for back in 2007 - I never suffered from depression until I got picked on by him:mad:

Off now to defrost a crust and make some soup.

    I HAVE NO IRONING PILE!!!!
Nada not one item :j Mind you, have bits drying on airers so will have more by the morning :(

I have actually completed my list for today, I don't think I have every done that before.

My house is looking so much better than it was a few months ago, and probably every before, and it really is all down to this thread. Thank you so much to all of you for keeping it going as it really has kept me going and I could not have kept going without you all.

I do still have more to do. Our old rotting conservatory is still juam packed full of stuff that I am slowly ebaying/giving away but I now feel like I will get there.

Argh !the bloody cat just deleated my post. Natalie congratulations on your new baby boy. Hugs to everyone. Sorry Iv not caught up on all the posts but I will.
Well Iv been trying my best to get on top of the housework as outlaws are staying whilst we go on holiday this saturday . Iv washed and scrubbed the stair and landing carpets, should have seen the water it was black, shame, Oven cleaned, freezer cleaned and defrosted. Rug in livingroom washed again water was black.
Iv written a list of things to do before we go away. Iv been fighting depression so its a way of pushing myself. Atos medical Thursday which isnt helping my mood.
Mummy Em well done on compleating your list. Im glad that the thread is helping as I know Its keeping me motivated when I log in.
I actually finished a curtain to cover my machines in the kitchen. I hand sewed it as could not work my sewing machine. The other curtains I cheated on and used a web bonding. Mind you Ill have to hand sew one of them as the webbing has come apart. Serves me right.
    Hope everyone is well.
