Having a really CBA day today.
Meant to be getting the house cleaned today as have family and friends staying from Thursday for long weekend but just can't get motivated. DS was really upset when I dropped him off at pre-school this morning. Made me cry as I was walking away. Feeling all emotional now. They have called me to say he is fine and happy playing. Think I'm just looking for an excuse not to do any housework!!
I think I'll go get the kids rooms dusted and hoovered. That may just motivate me to get the rest done - fingers crossed.
Really need to get all housework done today then sit down this evening to write plan of action for next couple of days. Have several things I need to get done before visitors descend on us. Must go shopping for food, get ironing pile all finished (yeah right I will never see the bottom of the basket!!), get into town to collect bits from drycleaners - these are the absolute minimum although there are several more that need doing really. Just CBA. I am hating everything today :mad:0 -
Thank everyone for your good wishes
Ankle is only a bit painful now and I've done a fair amount of walking today too.
So as for de-messying...I've shredded a pile of paperwork, which has gone into the rats' bedding sack; now going to finish filing odd bits and pieces and make my lunch for tomorrow, before swanning off to the kennels to see my gorgeous boys (I think my OH has caved and is going to let me foster foxy man!!! :j)
Hope everyone who was feeling low feels better

Dinner is in and just contemplating putting the clean washing away - been to a school governor's meeting on the way home too!
Hopefully we will get to have a nice relaxing evening in front of the telly tonight! Glad to see you might foster Foxy, ColleenPamela - some things are just meant to be!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Sigh. Just decided to file my tax return, expecting as I made a loss to not owe money...I owe over £70, as two employers decided not to bother taxing some of my money. Thanks a lot. I clicked for them to collect it through my tax code but I've got no idea if it worked or not. Sigh, I could really cry right now, I totally wasn't expecting it. Guess I'll be ringing the tax office at some point!
Now CBA to do anything. Might go upstairs and trwal through Avon stuff. Joy.

Hi Thanks all who helped with my sunburn its feeling a bit better, another lazy day today 2 loads of washing 1 load of dishes. Been looking at cars found one - my dad's checking it over for us, my car is tiny and we have just worked out that the buggy and 3 kids are not going to fit d'oh really don't want to change the car. Took OH to the opticians and they had to rearrange as Boots told us on phone test took 15 minutes - lady in store said 25 minutes and we couldn't fit it in before getting the girls from school grrrr wasted journey
Midwife appointment tomorrow - more peeing in bottles - nevermind only a month to go and hopefully only two more appointments
Had a letter from tax credits today saying they owe me £1269 don't quite believe them going to put it in rainy day money just in case. Should have put it all on Euromillions lolDMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳
Current debt: £7823.62 7720.52 7417.940 -
Oh dear ColleenPamela - you are having a week of it! I hope things start to look up for you.
Natalie - glad the sunburn is getting better. I don't thin doing dishes & laundry = lazy, I've only managed one load of dishes today!
MummyEm - have you managed to get your tidying done? :rotfl:
As for me - homework has been minimal today, one load of laundry, half a sink of dishes and I cleaned the walls in the spare room with some stuff to remove sticky glue residue - my fault. But we are having a bit of a desolate day, because we've been assessing our finances and although things are not dire, they are not pretty! So we're having a bit of a mope about that, and I'm going to look at ways of getting a bit of extra money to clear our debts - we're trying to save where we can on buying food etc, but without some seriously drastic lifestyle changes (moving out of London, changing career) we can't save much on household expenses.
We can live on what we've got (just), and make all the payments we are supposed to make on out loan and CCs without going further in to the red, but as we both work for the government we've had our wages frozen for a while now (and set to continue), and it now looks like our pension contributions are going to go up, so we're going to be £60/£70 a month worse off - each!
Anyway, ranting, sorry folks!
xIn a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!0 -
Thanks for all the positivity ladies
On a positive note, after a huge row with talktalk (although it did mean that i could cancel my contract without incurring any fees, the upside) I spoke to a scrummy sounding man with plusnet and am having broadband and phone with them at the new house, for less money, with UK call centres and set up quicker than talktalk! (Talk talk were going to take a month to get my broadband up and running at the new house!) Must have built up some good karma, certainly feel a lot better for some reason
the lovely ladies at the kennel have told me that if the charity insists on me giving the full donation for my Fox, they'll all chip in
He's 10, had bad legs and cloudy eyes, but he's my gorgeous foxy man and my other dog Roger seems to want to be by his side and protect him all the time, so I can't wait for 2.5 weeks to pass and for me to be able to bring them home!

Good Morning Messies!
I've been up since 4, OH working in London yest and stayed in Coventry last night. Been tidying the floorobe!! Found my suncream box and my kaftan thing which I answer the door in when I'm in a state of undress! Need to put things up in loft, and put clean laundry away, no intention of tackling it all got to be realistic:p DS in nursery this am so I can get a head start probably will need to catch up on sleep too. Talking finances Maggie Bob, I really need to look into mine. I've got lots of boxes of paperwork, bills etc and should tidy them out and file them. We've taken a big financial hit and I need to have the full picture so I know where I can make cutbacks. Keep us posted CollenPamela on pl*snet. They're based in Yorkshire so are certainly straight speaking. Considering moving to them myself as Sky is so expensive. We go digital in this area next month and think that we could cut back lots by going freeview or freesat. ANyone got any advice? Will check in later. Have a good day all.0
