Glad I have helped Emg! Actually it was when I was staying with my sister that this dawned on me too. My sister went to put her shoes away, opened the hall cupboard and there was a gap on the shelf ready and waiting. Oh this sounds silly now but I realised that when I want to put shoes away I kind of have to wedge them in the bottom of the wardrobe somewhere so I often didnt try!!! I went through a stage of thinking - I need more storage - and bought all sorts of boxes and baskets which quickly got filled with more stuff. You wouldnt believe how much stuff I have got rid of now but its definitely the way to go!

This is so like me, thanks for giving me light at the end of the tunnel. Sadly my sister is worse than me so I would never have had my moment of realisation at her house!

Anyway, no time like the present, I have made a start. I have cleared out all my old coathangers. Can you believe that I was letting my coathanger collection take up a whole shelf in my wardrobe and meanwhile letting my clothes live in piles on the floor? When I write it down it makes me sound like a nutter!

They are in a big box in my boot now, either to recycle (not sure where?) or freecycle. And I have moved my jeans to the shelf to make more hanging space for tops. Have also tackled a whole load of handwashing that has been sitting waiting for ages. Feeling very pleased with myself! :o

If you want to recycle them, I think if you have a tesco near you that sells clothes they often have a hanger recycling bin xx

I have been tackling the kitchen and I am so impressed with all that I have got done today! However there is still such a long way to go and so little time to get it done in!

Ooo - another week starts, only 2 weeks until the schools break up around here - nice quiet roads for getting to and from work, but the town centre where I work will be rammed with bored children and parents! Oh well!

Another busy day in work for me, 2 colleagues ore off, just leaves me and the boss, I will be demented by Friday! :rotfl:

2 loads of washing ready to go out before my shower, will get those ironed when I get home later, then the whole lot can go away. Dishwasher is ready to go so that can be emptied when we get back too - I'm slowly getting organised!

Hope everyone has a good day - I'll report back later with anything else I manage to get done today.

    Hi All

Still not feeling 100% and could do with today off work to sort my head out but I refuse to let depression be a reason for sickness - it is a condition I am not ill, just not quite in the place I would like to be and deserve to be.

This morning I have prepared lunch for work for me and DH, then we had porridge with banana for breakfast.

    DW is on
    Washing on line
    Off to shower now
    Then work for 8

Have a good day all - the sun is shining here.

    Hi messies :D
I have had a mad weekend, I have had to cover wkend cleaners shifts, it has been funny going back to work at the wkend, not done it for ages :o

I did no cleaning over the wkend so must get my butt in gear today :o

WM is on just the DW to go on when kids have had breakfast.

It sounds like we are all having a rough time at the moment :( hopefully the sun will shine more and we will feel a little better but then again the sun shows up all the dust in the house and makes my windows look manky :rotfl:

((Hugs)) for those that need them :) and hope everyone has a brighter morning :D
    Catch you later :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

hello hope you are all feeling better, I hate being at work today but had a productive weekend,

Did the garden, cut grass and tidied up...
    ironed washed and cooked loads

did the front room and hoovered our bedrooms but they seem to be in the same state haha.

Did a good deep clean of the downstairs bathroom too!

    A blackforest gateux
    24 cheese scones
    2 huge shepherds pies
    3 fish pies
    a beef madras
    Beef in red wine sauce
    Mince and onion pie
    corned beef and potato pie.

makes us more time on a night to do more things like tidying out cupboards and cleaning!!

    I hope...

But I shall do a thing a night
    Trying to shift that debt!

    Morning Messies

I have been unstoppable this morning! Woke up with the birds and I've already cleared out loads of things from the living room and started to declutter as well as tidy.

Totally confident that I will at least have the bottom half of the house in a respectable order and the rooms upstairs can just be closed :D
When I come back from my holiday I am going to be ruthless and clear out the kitchen cupboards :).

One room I am dreading is our bedroom as it has turned into a glorified dumping space and you can hardly move. I am longing for it to be turned into an oasis of calm where I can finally relax and get my sewing machine set up.

Morning messies! Some of you have been busy, haven't you?

So some sort of tidying mania gripped our household this weekend. As his family were coming to visit, the hubby actually completely tidied our living room, straightened up the spare room, and ran the carpet sweeper around everywhere - so proud of him.

For my part, I did 2 loads of dishes (side note here - I hate doing dishes as I always seem to get a completely soaked midriff from where I lean against the counter - think it's something to do with my being short? :(), 2 loads of laundry (so only 3 baskets of laundry left to do, and the towels and some bedlinen), changed the bed clothes, and eliminated our floordrobe!:T. Still got to clear my dressing table, but at least I can now get to it.

Of course, the fall out from the in-laws coming is a whole new pile of dirty dishes generated, and the livingroom needs straightening again. Housework feels very much 2 steps forward, 1 step back these days :rotfl:
In a better financial position than ever before (thank you MSE!). Moved back to Scotland and now trying to keep debt-free!
