My home is a mess

Cleaned the kitchen well scrubbed it. Im amazed at how messy it gets in 24 hours. Mopped the livingroom and hall. Now tidy for visitors .
Mean Marie how lovely to be going on holiday. Hope you have a great time.
Shelly crow Id just buy a load of white paint and freshen it up. If there is a B&M store near you try them as the paint is really cheap and its the branded stuff.
Anyway off to look on ebay to see if I can get any cheap bargains for my kitchen.
Take care everyone.0 -
Hi Folks
Please may I join.
I have been following this thread from the begining but havent wanted to post until now.
Without going into too much detail my situation is slightly difficult, I live in a house with my (soon to be ex) husband ( we have been seperated 3 years), commute to work every day in London. I have a darling BF who lives an hour and a hour away from home who I see once a fortnight, ( He is not a well man) and to be honest I feel I am keeping 2 homes. Also have a grown up daughter who has jsut given me a beautiful GS (only see then once in a while)
My job has been very hectic for the past few weeks so have not done a great deal apart from washing , ironong and cooking.
I know I need to get more on top of things and reading all your posts does inspire me, so just wanted to say hi.
the reason for the late post is not long back from BF, needed a couple of glasses of wine to chill.
So thats me hope all have a good weekend

Hi
I used a massive tub of magnolia paint on offer in B&Q recently to redecorate our bedroom I think it cost me a tenner and did 3 coats with some left over - we were painting over mid-blue. Its a lovely natural colour and I think they paint showhomes with it in new builds. I had matching curtains and a lampshade in dunelm for £16 - I just washed the walls in the kitchen with a soda crystals solution and didn't need to paint at allDMP 2021-2024: £30,668 £0 🥳

Morning all I am going to start sorting out the house now my DD has moved out and taken most of her belongings with her, we have 4 bedrooms and a loft room plus my office that need a clean up declutter and a facelift. Also got two batrooms that could do with a spruce up decor wise, not going to try to do it all at once LOL.
I think seeing DD's lovely newly renovated house coming to fruition has given me the spur I need to sort this place out properly, we have plenty of storage space and plenty of junk taking up the space.
My upcoming birthday party (50 in 3 weeks) means we will have people staying so spare room first I think...0 -
Right fellow messies, today I need to do lots to the house to try and ignore the fact that it's Father's day (I lost my Dad just over a year ago and days like this are still really hard for me). I've been having an awful time at work as well so I really need to get motivated and do something positive! SOmeone give me a kick up the bum?Remember to always be yourself-unless you suck. Hello, I'm new here ... and so pleased to have found this thread. I really thought I was alone, and that no-one could live in a house as disgusting as mine is.
My partner seems to feel that because he works relatively long hours sometimes it absolves him of any responsibility to help out at home, so support from him is virtually nil. If he does attempt any form of diy or decorating, he loses interest very quickly and nothing ever gets finished. I hate living here, I am ashamed to have anyone come here, and in fact being at home just makes me feel ill and depressed.
I know that I need to do something to get on top of things, but it's just so hard to get started. I'm hoping to be able to follow the Fly Lady thread from tomorrow to help me. In the meantime, I'm going to make a start by putting away the four loads of laundry that I did yesterday, then I'm going to clean the bathroom, do the grocery shopping and find a pile of stuff to list on ebay.
I'm looking forward to hopefully having a nicer home to live in in the near future.0
