    Thanks Helen

I must be so evil - everyone has said that they are buying Fathers Day stuff but we don't celebrate it - I haven't got anything for my dad and nothing for OH - DD made him a card and a certificate in school tho' My dad always said it was a commercial thing. I didn't have anything for Mothers day either but I think I gave my mum a card as she expects one.

I generally don't do cards as I don't see the point in buying something that will be recycled or worse binned the next day - and they are sooo expensive - if we do buy them they are 25p ones from Value Mr T's

Oh well - trying to get up some enthiusiasm for housework but failing miserably! Have done the shopping with DH today and looked in a couple of opticians - my last pair of glasses years ago cost almost £400 - not a special prescription or anything, surely there must be a cheaper way? Boots might be the way to go, we both need new glasses and sunglasses would be good too. Will have to think about it!

Been trying to get the washing done too, but it's been showery so the washing has been in, out, in, out, bit like the Hokey Cokey! Sunny again now so one load is out and another in the machine.

Our bedroom badly need vaccuuming, just got to summon up the energy to do it - it's awful BUT very tidy since my blitz on Thursday! One thing to concentrate my efforts - Mum is coming for dinner tomorrow, and I do like the place to look extra nice - will have to bear that in mind while I finish my cup of tea - and that bloody porch STILL hasn't been done!! :rotfl:

And at least since my decluttering efforts over the last couple of weeks, the kitchen and bathroom have been a pleasure to use and keep looking nice - perhaps there is something to this tidying up lark, after all! :D

I'm not going now either - waterlogged festivals are not my idea of fun!!

Here's hoping to a drier day tomorrow - I would love to see the Peartree Bridge Family - they are on at 3.

Nat - I've just cut down drastically on who gets what in the way of cards - I was sending them to members of the family that I wouldn't know if I saw them in the street!! So no more - Job done, no cards being sent for birthdays or Christmas. My DH doesn't expect much but the kiddies Dad does and doesn't understand that bringing up kids and running a home on 1 wage [and a low paid 1 at that] is nigh on impossible!! Still, that was our choice so we'll just have to carry on being mega skint for now.

Never been as skint as I am now!!!

Never been as happy as I am now!!!

Never been as messy as I am now!!!

Candygirl - my DH is the same - he gives me a fishing reel and says Ebay that, dumps it on the comp desk and there its staying till he says what the flip type it is lol

Dads Day pressies done, DH id getting some cheap beer and a cheap bottle of Wine, Ex is getting a big picture frame [£8 from BnM] that shows 10 photos so went to Staples and copied the photos onto paper [not paying for proper photo copies and not using my ink], put said copies into frame and it looks really good - bah humbug that its him who's getting it lol

No tidying up done today at all and none will be done as I CBA

Went to my dads and cleaned his bathroom it was a right state. He has done as little as possible as it would eat into his pub time. Took him some dvds and a card. Went to Asda for a few essentials and a massive B&M store to look around. Ended up getting paint for the front room as it was cheap and not the rubbish stuff either.
Got home did some sandwiches and went to bed for a few hours. Iv just started the dreaded time of the month .
Im going to give my kitchen a clean and then have a coffee. Catch up later.

Had takeaway pizza last night with lovely friends, it was great to avoid cooking and messing up the relatively clean kitchen!

I realised today that my house needs complete redecoration. I don't wanna spend too much because I'm trying to exchange for a bigger house so it needs to be as appealing as possible. Will have to ponder this, don't really want the extra hassle when it's so difficult to stay on top of the day to day running.

Hope you fellow messies are all ok, I cba today at all, it's shocking.

Feeling good about myself to-day.....remembered to sprinkle thick layer of bicarb on hob last night and washed it this morning, now looking almost shiny new....I hate gas hobs, but that's another story!

Going on holiday to-morrow but most of my grown up children will be here next Saturday so have made up the 3 spare room beds and left out clean towels, so they can hunt in the fridge or provide anything else they need...free bed is enough from me I think!

Need to do some major decluttering when I come back as impossible to properly clean such a messy house.
