Hello fellow messies - I haven't disappeared under a mound of clutter but have had a sh*t week at work and been so tired pressing the on button would have been too much effort most evenings.

House actually hasn't been too bad as OH has taken up the baton and kitchen hall bathroom and landing are looking clean and tidy, and more importantly don't smell of animals!

Having lost my job at the end of March I've been on casual/self employed basis, and although I've been working, so far no money has found it's way into my bank, so worry how bills are mounting up. This has led to cba feeling as well. Also had a cold/hay fever which made me feel carp so didn't do car boot this Saturday, and DD is away the next couple of weeks so her friends carp is still all over the dining room.

Did get my greenhouse sorted out a bit more today, and the rest of the plants planted, so just waiting for the promised rain to give them an extra good water in.

Now the house is tidy it's proving so much easier to keep it like this. DD has helped to sort out some of my clothes and we will continue today as it looks like rain so gardening won't happen.

Trying to stave off depression as I can feel the grey clouds looming large at the moment. :( Doesn't help that I have bday looming at the end of the week (never enjoy these).

Oh Soupdragon I know how you feel. I left my job last December to be a full time carer for my son. Now I am at home all the time I feel that I should be able to have an immaculate house because I dont work but somehow there is never enough time. Hubby is trying to bring home as much money as he can which leaves me to do all the gardening, cooking, cleaning, ironing, childcare, managing the finances etc etc. I constantly beat myself up because I feel like I am not doing these tasks as well as I should. I was talking to another Mum recently and she was saying she has decorated all three of her bedrooms in the last few months and I cant even manage to keep mine clean and tidy!

Also when you are at home a lot you are surrounded by the mess constantly. My house really needs decorating and it just doesnt bother OH as much as me, probably because he is out all day.

I do like the advice about some sort of keepsake box, so thanks for that Broomstick. The trouble with trying to get DS to sell on ebay is that he wants unrealistic amounts for things. If he thinks he is only going to get a couple of quid he says he might as well keep it.

I think the problem is that I have been the breadwinner for the past 10 years (v. long story), and I feel it is my responsibility to bring in money. Really just want a f/t job, as working s/employed/casual is doing my head in as I don't even know if all the work I do will be paid for (paperwork has to meet audit criteria).

Don't want to move from here as it's been my home for over 20 years and DD has never lived anywhere else either so am scared witless I won't earn enough to cover bills etc..

Having a really mopey Sunday :( - could crawl under the duvet and weep atm....

Where did the day go :o

I have done a load of washing, a huge pile of ironing and listed tons on ebay :D but not a lot else :(

I forgot about the electric guys comming tomorrow to put new wire down my little road (all of 8 houses :rotfl:) so I will be without electric for 3 days :(:(:( so no hoovering, no sewing and worst of all no internet :(:(:(

I wish (sometimes) that I didn't work then I might get something done in the house :o
My OH is about as much use as a wet paper bag when it comes to decorating and I have so much stuff to move 1st I CBA but it does get me down :(
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

    hi all,

never knew they were so messy people in the world HURRAH i'm not the only one.

My house is a junk tip, mess seems to spring up form nowhere.
I have literally got the messy gene, i blame my mother for not passing the tidy gene on. I also blame myself for not passing it on to my boys. but then again my OH is messy too so they's no hope for them.:o My family are all OCD about cleaning, they houses stink of bleach and are like chemical factories. Mine is just a pit.

I literally haven't seen my middle room floor since feb, snips (ds2's last birthday), but today i have decided to tackle it.

I've tried tried flying with the ladies and my gawd its hard, but it gives me something to aspire to. So i'm on there too, the way i see it, the more people telling me off the better it is. Also i feel guilty enough to do some ahem cleaning:o.

Right now i'm attempting to sort through a pile bigger than me of paperowrk. I swear i can barely see the pc screen .

So if not out in about three hours and i'm still on here. a) i'm still haven't done paperwork or b)i'm trapped.

Either way i've got music and a cat torturing me with its tail.

BB Lovely to see you again and sorry to hear you're having a carp time. Good news that you're still managing to do a little after all it all helps.

Well today i scrubbed the chairs i got fed up of doing yesterday. They have all come up quite well.
did wm x 3 and drier x 3 it just needs emptying . Lock broke on drier door last week so i've had the box with my new dining chairs in propped in front to keep it shut lol. Engineer coming to fix it tmz thank god.
Just made a nappy cake for a lady who supports the ear trust to send to her niece . Just need to parcel it up tmz now and send it off to london.

    .
Im still doing the washing forgot to mention it on my doing list earlier. Changed our bed and ended up with more washing . Oh has a habit of leaving dirty clothes where it drops:mad:
Had my son,dd and oh doing their share today so the house looks tidy and clean. Mind you oh took a strop when I asked him to do the kitchen and floor. A few choice words sorted him out though, lol.

Hope everyone is fighting fit and rearing to go tommorrow. I think we all need a boost. :D
