Thanks Snookie and ExTrolley. Fizzbitz, hope the vitamins help.

We are going away for a week on Saturday so housework isn't getting done but I am proud of myself because I have my case packed. Have got together things like towels, hairdryer and the food we are taking with us. I have made some biscuits and rocky road to take. Got homemade meals in the freezer for DS. It feels good to be more organised and know that tomorrow I can relax and get in the holiday mood.

Hope everyone else is okay. ExTrolley, it is good that you have the helper from the children's centre.

    Hi messies
What a great thread I've been reading this thread for the last couple of days and it warms me to think that I am not the only messie one:jcan I join in?
Well a little about me and my mess, there is me,OH, DD1, Some times DD2 with grandson, and 6 cats.we are a family of hoarders,I work full time at Mr S.some times I am there 6 days aweek with overtime, so by the time I get home I am knackered:mad: In the past I had hoped that by the time I was in my mid fifties I would be able to do less hours rather than more:mad:
I have had this week off from work and have started sorting things out,I have to do this as if He is arounld he will not let me throw anything away he has been known to go through the rubish and pull things out again:eek: so know I do it when he's not arounld and take it stright up the dump:rotfl:My biggest mess is our bedroom as it is a dumpping ground, so if we shut the door it wont be seen and i've got to the point of where do I start:(any ideas?

Washing machine on for the second load (and many more to follow later). Went out last night for a leaving do so not feeling as energentic as I'd like - my lovely DH stayed up way beyond his bedtime to come and collect me and my friend and take her home too - and not a word of complaint, he's an angel!

Just got a couple of bits to do in the lobby then it's either the kitchen or living room - or I could start small with the porch?

Decisions decisions!! Shower (in the lovely sparkly clean tidy minimalist bathroom) first!

Good luck to all fellow messies - if I can do it, anyone can!

    Good Morning all.

I have been awake since 4.00am so decided about half past to get up. I have made a tea loaf and treacle cake that I saw on Thriftladys wartime thread last week. Also put the washing out to finish drying from yesterday. Can't do too much or I'll wake everyone else up. There is now a stack of washi ng up to be done because of the cakes but don't want to be clattering.

    Good Morning!

A good nights sleep here in ExTrolly towers! Now sat with DS whilst he has his toast watching Come Outside, it's quite sweet and it doesn't get on my nerves like some of the kids programmes, we sky+ for the children.
Esther, my fairy godmother Angela from the children's centre is a god send. I've been suffering from severe PND/depression for some time I had a referral from my health visitor and I have enrolled on a family health course which alllows me time to think and DS is in a creche. They have put a plan of action together and I have 10 weeks at an hour a week. This is to allow us to resume family life. Sitting down for a meal together and being able to use my kitchen to cook. They have taken pictures and they're going to do before and after!! It has taken a lot for me to realise that I have crossed the clutter untidy messy border and now it has impeded on regular family life. I'm hoping as my mother says tidy house tidy mind. I'm so lucky getting the support also from my mum. It's lovely having fellow messies I don't feel I'm quite alone. My energy levels are in peaks and troughs, but we;re getting there!

Welcome to barneydee you're in good company. OH sounds a bit frustrating thank goodness for dumps. Working all hours doesn't help. I find that setting the kitchen timer for 10 mins helps, it's amazing what you can do in that time. if you haven't finished just reset!! Start slowly, babysteps. I have written down a list even of the most basic things like clear a bum space on the sofa! My list is huge but I love crossing them off as I've done them.

Hart, Sagaris and Esther you are all busy this morning. Enjoy your hols Esther. Good to see you back Crafty Granny where are all the other messies? I think I've missed out on some other newbies so welcome! We could do with a messy convention!
Hart, know what you mean about washing, did some yesterday and when I brought it in one of the loads smelt most peculiar back into the machine I think. It's OH job to do bins on Thurs eve for collection Fri morning, once again I've had to do it. Got rid of some toxic items in fridge and fruit bowl too. A beautiful day here, need to do bedding, it was too hot and sticky last night. Have a good day and please excuse my ramblings!

ExTrolley, I had severe PND when mine were little. Its a dreadful thing. It's good that you have the support.

The cakes are to take away with us, as are the biscuits I made yesterday. This way we don't have to spend as much money. A flask and a homemade cake in a pretty spot are just as good as a cafe IMO, and a whole lot cheaper.

I'm sat out in the garden with my breakfast but need to get on now. Lots to do even though I did so well with the holiday prep yesterday.

    Have a good day.

I always used to take cake, sandwiches and a flask out when on holiday. It`s so much more relaxing that being in a cafe.
Really must start doing this when I go out for the day too.
    Have a great holiday.

Work for me today so not much cleaning going on.
Went out looking for a new fridge/freezer last night. The old one is making funny noises and the seals aren`t as good as they should be.
Hoping to have the kitchen refitted soon though so it will be nice having a shiny new one for then.
Have a good day fellow messies :)
