Well - after dipping in and out of this thread for a while, I have today and tomorrow off work - and lots of binbags!
In true MSE style I have been to the library and borrowed some decluttering books - normally I would have dashed straight to Amazon and bought them - I can recommend 'The Toothbrush Principle' by Sheila Chandra!
So - it's shower time then decision time - which room to start with!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Hi from MK - yet another sunny day
Last night's wash load is already on the line
DW emptied
Plan before work is to make a curry for tonight, hoover downstairs and some ironing
Pack 3 Ebay parcels, ready for when they are paid for
Take two bags to the CS
Feel shattered already - time for a cuppa :rotfl:0 -
Good Morning, to each and all
What a lovely day here in the North East
Sorry not been on for a few days, things have been getting me down since i lost my job in April, and i have been having a CBA couple of days.
I did myself a list the other week and i have not crossed anything off it... Its a list of jobs that i think are not the normal run of the mill, for example clean the food cupboards jobs where you can hide the mess...
So from today i will do one job per day ( I have 10 jobs on this list) of course the usual jobs will get down, ie, quick tidy of living room, kitchen and bathroom....
So todays job is MY BEDROOM - dust and wash all surfaces
Hope everyone as a great day.........

Good Morning Messies!
Hart your sewing looks fab, you are talented!! I like knitting although I'm not great at it. Do you like the magazine making? or handmade living? I think they'd be up your street. I got the new mollies makes and wasn't too keen on the projects although the photography and fabrics were lovely.
Sagaris, welcome good luck with the bin bags on your days off. Thank you for the book recommendation I had looked at that and wondered whetheer it was a purchase.
Gilly no wonder you've needed a cuppa this early, you're not taking babysteps today you're positively toddling! Well done!:T
Jack D losing your job is soul destroying I went thrugh it 3 years ago. Not a great job market out there. I ended up with a job with basic pay, which was a shock to the system! Whereabouts in the north east are you? Have you any interviews lined up? It's babysteps so well done for tackling those jobs we always leave until last. Good lick with your bedroom, can't wait to tackle mine, but need to sort out downstairs first!!
Errands this am before the sun gets too hot and then my friend is calling in for a coffee. DS to nursery this aft so I can spend some time with DD. Have a productive day, even if it's just snoozing in the sun!!:j:j
Where is Rigsby, Grey Queen and Crafty Granny?
Lovely weather here, ideal drying day!0 -
Update - I started with the bathroom - thinking that's the smallest room in the house and should be easy.
I've done the cupboard under the sink - shameful! And the little storage box too - half a binbag of unused, out of date, manky stuff - and I doubt we will need to buy sunscreen this year or insect repellent (bought at the end of season sale last year so still in date).
Cup of tea 'reward' now then onwards and upwards!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

I've also borrowed 'The Life Laundry' by Dawna Walter and Mark Franks - another good book, slightly different ideas but also very helpful. I am getting into this decluttering lark! I also have another couple of books requested from the library, just waiting for them to come in - will report back once I've read them.
Off for my cup of tea and biscuit reward now - then off to do more grot removal! :rotfl:
Thank you for the welcome - and I'll feel more inclined to do stuff if I know others are 'watching' on here!:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Hello all,
Hope everyone is OK. :A
CBA in spades here...
A really busy period at work is looming, so have recided to the state of the house as is till end of summer....
Maybe September will be better and then it's nearly you-know-what-beginning-with-a-C..... which is the only time of year my house is spotless and tidy.
I'm just trying to keep the black dogs / grey clouds away at the moment.
(now you all know why i haven't posted much... depressing)
Love,
Sentora

P.s. Imataloss, I love the saying in your signature and actually put it in practice the other day... Thank You for that (must admit it doesn't work every day though... working on that bit)
Thanks Sentora - it`s Groucho Marx. I read it in a magazine and was so inspired by it just had to add it to my signature.
Must try to put it into practice everyday now.
Have a great summer - don`t work too hard0
