  • I have not done much today, but I did clean the bathroom, I have had a new shower curtain waiting to go up, so that's done now :) I took all the extra bottles of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. and put them in a basket in the cupboard in the hall, and they will need to finish the ones which are out before they get a new one (no one will bother to look for them anyway) I still have to clean the floor, which I will do in a minute.

Bargainbunny, autism is not an excuse, use his particular eccentricities to your advantage, whether its pairing socks or cleaning tiles because he has good attention to detail, I am sure you will find something he can, and will enjoy, doing. Mine is vacuuming, my 11 year old has Asperger's and does the vaccuuming, puts the rubbish out and takes the washing upstairs for me. He's not the most thorough in the world, but its his job and that's that. He also puts the clean dishes away. Ds2 who is almost 9 also vaccuums (bigs brother does the stairs, he does the flat) They have been doing it for two years now. As for the ironing, don't do it!!! I don't iron unless absolutely essential, unless I am feeling crazy. When I do a washing, it comes out, gets folded and stacked flat for an hour or so before going on the horse. If it is going outside I don't bother, it goes straight out, and if it goes in the dryer, it goes straight into the drawers afterwards folded flat. Why make extra work for yourself?

I wish there was something i could work with, he does go to the shops for me as he gets exactly what i need and does not make any mistakes..photo memory:D
plus he is strong so i get him to put rubbish out but when it comes to his room or cleaning up after himself oh boy its shocking.. its like ive being burgled and they took nothing:rotfl: honestly wow.

my daughter is awaiting diagnosis but she just drops her clothes an they stay there.. never does her room its always yea i do it later..

cause i rent i have inspections every 3months.. which i put of last time so its been 6months, but it has to be in order.

Just need to keep at it then stick to routine to keep it clean and tidy..
i never iron tbh, i do like too but im not good at it so its tumble then gets put in pile/bag til i get time to sort ..
im going hike electric up tonight to get washing done.. plus sort clothes out.. wish me luck:j

Hi all, have been reading - think its great. I have bursts of energy where I start something quite major sometimes, but then I get soooooooo tired (bone tired almost) where I have to sleep to get my energy back so there are quite a few half done jobs around the house (hangs head).

This week I have managed to scrub out the bathroom (including lifting the lino to check for mould - the children splash a lot in the bath!) and I have dejunked the hall. Trouble is it has all gone into other rooms!! Today I have to do my bedroom as OH is back from work tonight and will need somewhere to sleep! The children will have to play outside whilst I'm doing this. It MUST be done by 4pm. x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Im so glad im not the only on on here who struggles with i. thank you so much for this thread.

    many hugs

  • Princess I think living with a domestic godess would be soooo difficult. You couldn't put a cup down for fear of a ring on the furniture, and if you sat you'd disarrange the beautifully sculpted cushions.

Today was not the most successful - stupidly left car lights on the other day so couldn't go shopping  did get some laundry done and towels put away:j but then burnt the carrots for dinner :( still on the prevent the fur grooming kick as by dog won't let me brush her for too long at a time.

Luckily my daughter bought me a bottle of Doom Bar to enjoy with dinner :T so just about even on the day.

I am off to collect a take away for dinner as I just CBA cooking, then I am going to spend the evening folding clothes and watching telly. Busy weekend ahead, finishing decluttering / clearing the playroom to make it into DS1's bedroom on Sunday. I can see it far enough

  • Well I have done nothing as I was out for a friends birthday dinner - just about to go to bed and watch Eastenders and Corrie.
Have big plans for the weekend which include getting another charity bag sorted and getting some storage sorted for some of the homeless stuff x
  • Whaa - up at 6 (poor health and energy dictates this) - watching Law and Order and will do commersial break cleans for the morning until fully awake.
  • First washing on and bathroom cleaned - still in jammies and would be quite happy not to get dressed today
