My eldest son has just asked me why there is a Sports Direct top in the freezer. My reply "because it's got chewing gum on it" just seemed to make him more confused. I'm sure he now thinks I've lost the plot :rotfl:14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140

I wonder if others watch programmes like 'how clean is your house' and 'hoarder next door' etc just to be reassured that their house isn't *that* bad. I know I do!0

Whenever I see a show like that I end up cleaning something!
The house looks a bit more wonky than it really is, I'm mid doing stuff. Yesterday I dumped a load of old magazines, freeing up space on the bookshelf for other things, we've done loads of little spring cleaning type jobs and quite a bit of stuff has gone to the charity shop. Other than that I'm just plugging on with the usual stuff. DH has a list of workmen to call so we'll be getting some of those jobs done soon too.
Hope everyone is ok, off for a catch up now.0 -
Dibuzz, I hope your counselling has gone well today. At least by now you`ll have met the counsellor and he/she won`t be a stranger next time.
I have watched a few `hoarder` progs but not the `how clean` ones...life`s too short!
I`ve just pottered today - still feel very lethargic, even though I`m, sleeping ok. I was going to use the timer but I couldn`t find it, most of my pottering has been in DGD`s room so it`s slow progress anyway without her here. I`ve found another WM load in there, a carrier bag`s worth of rubbish, and sorted & emptied another folding storage crate which is now flat & stashed with the others.
I also found my timer in there, Ha!
Bacon bones/mushy peas & hash browns tonight, a real CBA meal!0 -
Thanks Emm, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. He was lovely and made me feel normal, he used to suffer from depression and social anxiety so knew exactly what it is like and thinks he can help me.
He can only do 6 sessions but said he can pass me on to someone else who can do 12 afterwards if I need it.
I didn't get any more of the lawn done as it's been raining on and off all day and haven't done much else, I fell asleep for an hour this afternoon then it was time to pick eldest up from the station.14 Projects in 2014 - in memory of Soulie - 2/140 -
Large pile of magazines out to a friend, 200g pack of coffee nobody here really drinks ditto, along with a little pot of foundation that was a freebie (I don't wear foundation).
I came back with a little short-sleeved cardigan, a pair of virtually new elastic-waisted trousers (legs too long for pal, ideal for me!) and a 75ml shower gel that will be great for holidays. Pal prefers soap to gels.
I have to log all my mail for surveys for the next few weeks, which has been a good way of ensuring that junk mail doesn't build up, as once logged it goes straight into File 13 (the bin!).Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Was having a fairly lazy day as my leg was aching (only aching not serious pain), managed to stock-take freezer and cupboards. Then DS2 phoned about the SM shop.
Mum gave me some vouchers last week £10 off a £50 shop. Having sent DS3 shopping last week:eek: was determined not to do that again but can't go round everywhere finding the best offers. DS2 has been off sick and his workplace is now having a long overdue refurbishment so he is short of money too. Decided if we shop together we can make up the £50 and get the £10 off. If necessary I can get a taxi back (will try bus when leg improves). Have vouchers for four weeks.
Disappointed by lack of bargains but got what I needed, had taxi as leg was starting to trouble me (bag very heavy as stocked up on tins and cordial for DS3) unpacked and may have had a 3 hour nap. Problem that was keeping me awake is now manageable - coming up with practical measures I can take. You only realise afterwards how much something is stressing you out - determined not to lose further sleep over it.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -

Tattycath, how did it go with the timer? I`m always a bit surprised how much I can do in 20-minute bursts, even when I`m not rushing to beat the clock.

yes, those programmes make me want to do something-even if it's just sorting out a couple of drawers or a pile of something.:) I think those programmes are motivating.GE 36 *MFD may 2043
