Eldest's car had to go back for a couple of things sorting out so dropped it off at 9, youngest picked me up and we went for a Maccie's breakfast (only way I could get him out of bed!) then on to Iceland for a few things we like from there. He loves the admiral pies for a late night snack.
I was going to put some washing out but it's spitting so will see if it brightens up.
Daughter is due home from working in Poland sometime today, I'm sure she will have brought lots of washing home for me.

I was trying to post a pic of the huge mound of dishes my son had in his room but was having trouble and thought I had deleted it, nothing is showing on here.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I had one of those!

No housework at all today! I have driven 60 miles each way on the A55 to visit a very good friend who has moved to live near her daughter and help with child care.

I was nervous, but I had to do it. Years of living just a mile from work and letting OH drive has got me out of the habit.

Too many of we women do that. :D

I know of several women who passed their test but don't drive and a few who refuse to drive on motorways or in city centres. Although I have no need to drive now as I work from home, it would have revolutionised my life if I'd passed my test in 1988.
Mind you, I may have taken a different path as a result, and I now have a career I adore that will hopefully see me through to retirement in 10 years time.

I was reaching for something last night and realised I was standing on tiptoe - I thought "I couldn't do that" - couldn't stand on it with foot flat 2 weeks ago. So today I have painted a bit more than half of the little room -was leaning heavily against the wall for the last bit so thought it best not to finish it off.

Ran a bath, took some pots downstairs, ran water and did some washing up (not got to the bottom but making inroads), heated leftovers, took out the recycling - noticed it was trying to rain so brought in the 3 dry sheets and bits that were still out. The only thing I forgot was (a lazy tip) I had put bubble bath in the water and was going to scrub all the bits(tiles, sides etc) I could reach before getting out of the bath (still having trouble standing for more than 10 minutes so thought I'd do as much as I could sitting/kneeling).

Still quite pleased with what I achieved and managed to water seedlings in dining room (6 trips from kitchen sink to patio doors) when I went down later. Back to resting now.

I have been following the NSK challenge and the theme for March has been the tortoise and the hare. Have been signing off with keep plodding torties - seems appropriate to this thread as well, so thought I'd share.

    Good Morning Messies!

YL - I do hope your Lurgy isn`t developing as you feared, but I applaud your not taking it along to spread round your extended family gathering!

Dibuzz - I can imagine only too well the pile of pots from son`s room - I get those too, no pic needed!!!

Pollypenny - when I passed my driving test I was just like you, I only drove the short or very familiar routes for years as my late hubby insisted on doing most of the driving. When he died it was a struggle at first to push myself to drive places but I`m glad I persevered. As it`s turned out, here I am a decade later the only driver in the household - my now OH can`t even ride a bike! So he`s in no position to criticise my driving, and his hobby is maps so he`s a great navigator. We`ve done the A55 run for 3 weeks for my radiotherapy sessions, and a decade ago I couldn`t have done this.

Tattycath, how did it go with the timer? I`m always a bit surprised how much I can do in 20-minute bursts, even when I`m not rushing to beat the clock.

Mothernerd, you`ve done loads there, no wonder you`re pleased! Do be careful not to overdo it though.

    Chez-Emm....
Had a mad day yesterday, bitty but busy. I had noticed a clunking noise in the car at the weekend, so I took it to my wonderful local garage man to get it checked - he found the fault, (a loose bolt that had worn) replaced it and test-drove it and only charged me a tenner. Peace of mind restored, I then did an Aldi shop, not huge but needed a bit of fridge tetris to put stuff away. Bits of tidying and another paper cull for the recycling.
By teatime I was so tired - yet with nothing really to account for it. This time last week I was on my way home after the last day of radio, and I was less tired then!! I am wondering whether this is the predicted `fatigue` aftermath, but I think there are other reasons.
    1) I had got into an enforced routine in the last few weeks, am out of it now.
    2) the clock-change..my body clock hasn`t caught up with it yet! Plus the weather has been actually warm, and I`m not complaining but my inner thermostat hasn`t caught up with that either.

All I`ve done today is tick-over stuff, kitchen & LR tidied and some clothes put away. Maybe I should do a `timer potter`, and try to inspire myself....

I've done 5 loads of washing, all out on the line now and most of it should be dry so I suppose I should bring it in.
If the grass is dry in a bit I might mow it but all my joints are sore and stiff so not sure how much I will get done, even opening the shed feels like a huge effort :o

Washed and hung out two bathmats and managed to water all the remaining seedling so have walked from front to back of the house at least a dozen times (I had 17 boxes of seedlings on the front room windowsill, added more then tranferred some into the vestibule - set off in batches at the beginning of each of the last few months).

Want to find the energy to finish painting in the small bedroom then treat myself to a bath and wash hair but had a very bad night - only slept from 11am this morning (extended family problems - want to say its not my problem but it will be, just have to wait and see how critical it gets, not worth losing more sleep) so taking it easy.

Leg has definitely improved so am going to try doing things in 15minute chunks tomorrow (with more sleep) but will rest as needed in between - not going to ruin last two weeks by doing too much. Still trying to work out if I could mop kitchen sitting down if DS3 fills and lifts mop bucket. may scrub bathroom tiles using the deck scrubber I bought. There's always a way if you think about it. May have to go away some time this month so would really like to make progress soon. (no scratching head smiley?).:rotfl:

I did manage to mow most of the lawn but ran out of steam so hopefully it will be nice again tomorrow.
Just dropped youngest 2 off at the pub so going to have a bath and an early night although I'm so nervous about the conselling tomorrow I don't think I am going to sleep much.
I've also got the knitting group meeting on Thursday and am determined to go but really anxious about that too as there will be more people there than last time.
