My home is a mess

Right, try again!
Very good to hear you're now strong enough to go back to work, Emms. Are you looking forward to it?
Jps, good to hear you're now on the mend, albeit very slowly.
Hope Sonastin and OH had a great time in Germany.
Alec e, lots of butterflies here, too - tortoiseshells, red admirals, a peacock, a holly blue (great lack of blues this year), and TA-DAH - a Jersey Tiger moth, which is something of a rarity although getting more frequent, and very beautful.
De-messing? Keeping most under control, the biggest problem being the fact that OH doesn't seem to be able to see that the hob and the worktop next to it are often filthy after he's been cooking. Atm, I've a fair few folders and papers around in thsi room, as I've taken a break from some of my usual regular commitments, and am doing some more family history research. there's always some excuse! ; )0 -
:wave:Hi Bearcub!
Hope you have the posting problem sorted now. Yes, I`m very much looking forward to tomorrow - not looking forward to the early wake-up thing, nor having to wear shoes as I`v been living in sandals/flip-flops for months!
I`ve got a pork & stuffing pie in the oven for tonight, plus a chicken for tomorrow in case I don`t fancy cooking after I get home! I`ll bung a salad with it if that`s the case, but I can always do a curry with it instead if I get the urge.
I`ve done my bit of shopping, and am now going to sit & soak my feet - could get horseshoes on them they`ve toughened so much!0 -
Hi Emms!:wave: DD1 did warn me yesterday that there seemed to be a problem with posts and smilies, so I didn't use smilies, and the forum still wouldn't let me in! Lost a long post, because I forgot to copy before posting. Very
Don't envy you the early 'call'. What time do you start?0 -
I've just tried to post a longish post, and I've been blocked.rosalie-lavender wrote: »Or me. I have the same problem.
This happened to me a few times. Being paranoid, I thought I had said something wrong somewhere on the forum or hacked!!!0 -

Thanks bearcub - Good to see you can post again, whew!
Hi FW! Great to see you again! How are you?
Emm, just wanted to wish you luck for tomorrow - hope it doesn't wear you out too much!
I seem to have relapsed a bit last night and today, the coughing has been awful. Might need to go and see the Dr again this week if it doesn't improve. What a mad thing to happen for the summer!I believe in the freedom of spinach and the right to arm bears.

Hi Messies!
FW - Hi, lovely to hear from you again!
JPS - make the dr appt today, get yourself checked over.
Guess what folks? I haven`t even STARTED back yet and they changed my shift time already!!! Had a phone call from ward sister at SEVEN pm, asking me to come in on the late instead of the early...I couldn`t help but laugh though. Am now thumb twiddling. At least I had a lie-in.
Have a good day all.x0 -
Afternoon/evening Messies.
Emms, our great NHS, eh? What a welcome back, changing your shift on your very first day back!
Hiya, FW! Very good to see you! Where have you been hiding?
Sorry to hear that your cough's returned, Jps. I assume it disturbs your sleep, which is so annoying.
DD2 is having dreaful problems with varicose veins and an infection. The itching of both is keeping her awake, and she's exhausted. At least she's on holiday this week, which just might give her body a chance to heal a bit.
Have vacuumed the house today, and washed the kitchen and bathroom floors. Bit of an 'atmosphere' chez bearcub for a while today. I spent quite a while yesterday, given the bathroom a really good clean (I keep it in a pretty good state anyway), including dealing with the build up of limescale in various areas. So, I go into the bathroom last night, before bed, after OH has been in there - and the taps and basin are generously covered in toothpaste! How? He uses an electric toothbrush! I mutter to myself, and wipe up the mess. This morning, I go to use the loo before going to the yard, only to find that the loo is filthy! No details needed. I asked OH, very quietly and politely (not even the slightest sarcastic) if he would mind cleaning up, and he lost his rag - for him, anyway. I wasn't impressed.0 -
Thanks for remembering me guys!!
I've been so busy, just haven't had time to check in with you all, i do apologise and will make more effort! My house is slightly tidier than it was, but not how i want it to be yet! I've got a bit of a morning routine going on, i sweep & mop the kitchen and conservatory floors every morning while i'm waiting for Mr Farmers bacon to cook. It's made such a difference and is so nice to walk into the kitchen without tripping over the flippin dog hair!! :rotfl:
JPS - sorry to hear that you aren't too well, hope you are feeling better soon, big hugs!
Em - i see you are still busy working, hope the shifts get sorted.
Bearcub - I'm glad i'm not the only one that has to deal with the toothpaste fairy!!
