I have no idea why, under the bed is a really sensible place to store stuff but I just have it in my head that I don't want to have anything there! Weird.
.
You see this is why I love this thread, we all have these things that make us the way we are. Me? I cannot have different things on shelves- eg CDs and Books. needs to be one or the other. The 8 boxes under the bed each have one type of thing in them. Yesterday when I did my wardrobe the boxes at the bottom had to be symmetrical..........

I know you're supposed to do it the other way around but glad I did it this way as the new paint showed the holes up so had more of an idea of what needed doing!!
just taking a few minutes rest to let the filla dry then will go sand down the ledges again and redo the little bit of paint. wont take long to do that, then will do the wall area underneath before we lose the light.
car boot stuff to be organised later and put out with the other crates of carp in the garage, DM's going to help me with that tho
right better get back to the grindstone!
Am impressed.
Bloody good work.Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
Right.
Paperwork is my Kryptonite. I would think about 75% of my clutter is paper. I do everything online and so ignore my post and now have boxes (maybe 5?) of post and school stuff combined..............
Any how I have a box to empty this afternoon.
so I shall report back later

WOW, Buffy & Theatregirl, you`re both going at it full steam ahead - keep up the good work, it`s lovely when you can start to see the difference you`ve made.
I`ve done a few little jobs today, plus a last-minute visit to farmshop & Mr M`s. The Menfolk should be well-vittled till I get home. I`ve also planned my first post-op cooking effort, bought a nice ham - well in date - and some apple juice, and a celeriac for celeriac mash. Also my kind Mr. Farmshop said he`ll be happy to deliver (doesn`t normally) I`ll only need to phone.
DGD is at her other grandma`s, but she`ll be here after school next week to `organise` folks (organised chaos!)
Happy de-messying all. x0 -

:j I do all that type of thing too... too much time on my hands maybe?0 -
Oh god - I have a joiner coming here in less than an hour to measure up for new windows. That means I can't even shove the boxes of "stuff" into a spare room - he'll be going into every room
Oh cringe! Talk about pigeons coming home to roost......[0 -

It's gonna sound weird but ...take them to your local Police station - ours have a knife amnesty about once every other month and you can take anything that could be used as a weapon in there and they'll get rid of it for you.

Yep, been there done that.
Hope you survived with some pride intact, am convinced if you are worried about it, it is not as bad as you think.
I once stayed at a friend's house and same out smelling like a manky hamster cage and she totally thought her house was fine...........people moved away from me on the train I smelt so bad and Mum opened the door to me and said what is that smell??
so am sure we all fine here xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

Survived! The joiner was either totally unfazed or a very good actor
So now I have a couple of weeks so that the place looks a bit better when he come to actually fit the windows - a definite incentive. Thanks for the reassurance Buffy
