chewynut are you in sutton-in-ashfield? i ask this because of your discription of where you live in your last post!!!!!!!!
would they admit to being from Sutton in Ashfield more to the point
(P.S - if you do live in Nottinghamshire - there's a bunches head office in Newstead -ish - you used to be able to colleact flowers for a discount but not sure if its still the same now)0 -
Interflora must have taken a leaf (sorry, pun) out of Mactucky's book. The crap they serve up looks nothing like any of the pictures on display!:p0

Well I'm not going near Interflora again - sent two separate bouquets of flowers from my wife to her mum and from me to my mum for mothers day, ordered a week in advance - both sets we were advised via email the night before we couldn't have the flowers we ordered, stock email "we'll upgrade your order instead by £10, blah blah". Mother in laws flowers arrived with masses of green foliage and about 3 wilty flowers, my mums flowers never even showed up.
Cue complaint by phone and letter, best they would do was 25% refund of the order value. Better than nowt I suppose, but for the best part of £100 worth of flowers I was pretty disappointed.0 -
It's a shame to see so many bad reports of Interflora - is it the local florists they choose to use? We've used them quite a few times to send flowers to my MIL and they've always been lovely and lasted well. We must be lucky with her local florist.0

Hi everyone
I'm chewynuts mum and I just want to say that the tulips were very lovely (although I didn't know till just how much she spent )
angnbern - it's the other one ending in 'ashfield',(if that makes sense) the interflora shop opp the nags head.....
My Dad used them a couple of years ago. He was being discharged from a very long hospital stay on my birthday. That bouquet was impressive too.
Had to smile about the marketing comments though - the closest dd got was a very good A-level english result:rotfl:0 -
Mimi - thanks for the bunches ref - they're only a couple of miles from us, I've heard of them but never tried them.0

Nice to 'meet' you, eanie meanie
. Your daughter definitely writes very well! And she is obviously very good at buying flowers!
I definitely think it has a LOT to do with the actual florist and those in an area with a well-stocked, concientious florist obviously benefit from that. But in the end, it comes down to Interflora who have to take responsibility for the times when the florist is found lacking... especially if it happens repeatedly.
Happy to report though, that a full refund has now been deposited in our bank account0 -
The Bunches company looks good - they send the flowers out themselves so there's no reason for the bouquets not to match what's offered on the website. Interflora obviously aren't careful enough about checking the standards of the florists who supply their flowers.0

I really symphatise with everyone on here but I would like to add some further information. I am a florist but I am not an Interflora florist. Many years ago Interflora were the name to trust when sending flowers anywhere unfortunately big business took over and making money became paramount to the brand. Once Interflora had incredibly strict requirements to have the name on your shop now anybody pretty much can join as long as they pay the fees. The fees are extortionate, Upwards of £200+ per month plus the dry stock that a florist must have to enable them to carry out the orders. The initial stock is nearly £2000. When anybody places an order through Interflora what you the customer actually pay for is nowhere near what you actually get. Firstly Interflora take their cut which is considerable then the order is passed through to the florist and they then have to try and make the bouquets shown on a lot less money. This does not exscuse what the op was sent.....stem count or not that was deplorable. Another thing with Interflora is that they send out box flowers now which means more money for them. So those lovely flowers that you think are coming from a florist are in fact coming from a factory, this is true of many so called florists on the web. Just google florist in your area and I can guarantee that there will be lots of High Street Florists on your High Street when in fact they are a box flower company who are nowhere near your High Street. All I can say is actually use a real life independent florist who does have a real bricks and mortar shop in your area. There are florist trade sites that you can find independent florists on or you can try Yell, type in florist and postcode then search. Then you must click distance otherwise all you will get are the companies who pay for the premium listings and who are generally flower factories.0
