  • Interflora just rang - my hubby answered and says the person he spoke to was very matter-of-fact (no apology). He was given two options: to accept a 50% refund and keep the flowers, or a full refund on return of the flowers. He chose the full refund and arranged for the florist to collect the flowers on Monday morning. Luckily my husband will be at home then anyway, but it would have been very inconvenient otherwise.

I'm not sure how to feel about it all. I just know we won't be ordering from them again :-/

wow and i thought id had problems with them, we sent my mum and dad some anniversary flowers and they came with the wrong name on the card (not good when it waas their 31st wedding anniversary), then ordered some for both sets of mums for mothers day and paid extra for chocolates wich never got delivered, Thankfully we got out postage costs back and the money for the chocolates. We also now have a note on their system that if our mail adrss was to order from them again the order should be double checked, wich im not sure could lead to trouble but at least they responed.

They are very bad flowers though id bbe disgusted and wanting more than a free bunch back.

Glad to know you got your money back for the chocolates :). I really think it depends on the florist and how careful they are with the orders.... although I guess the missing chocs could have be due to Interflora not passing the order along.

Our florist claimed they were only following the prescribed stem number... but putting a few flowers in a vase can be done by anyone. On the other hand picking quality stems and arranging them nicely, takes a concienscious florist and is what my husband thought he was paying for.

Blimey that's not very good is it, they should have at least given a refund and let you keep them.

What good are they to the florist now ?

To be fair its not Interflora's fault it sounds like the florist is cutting corners and costs, they are just like a booking agent aren't they

I've never used Interflora mainly due to price but have used either Bunches or Flying Flowers. Every time I've used them the recipients have said how lovely they've been and they've lasted well. I don't think I've ever spent more than about £20-25 but I've always been told the flowers looked stunning (and not just by the recipient being polite, also by other people who've seen them). On one occasion I spent more for flowers for my nan's 80th...only by mistake they were delivered 5 days too early! They were really apologetic and sent another bouquet on the correct date...but the first lot had lasted so well there had almost been no need...and my nan commented that the nieghbours may have thought she'd croaked it lol

My OH ordered one of their offers for Mothers Day - they were ordered a good two weeks before hand.

On the Saturday we had an email to say that due to circs beyond their control, his choice could not be delivered, but they had arranged an alternative and told the florist to increase the order by a minimum of £10 and we would get an extra 10% off our next order.

We haven't seen them as live 600 miles away, but according to MIL they were wonderful and massive and she was thrilled.

I think that it depends on the florists near to where they are being delivered, the florist in question should be careful otherwise they may lose their interflora link which can be damaging for a business given the amount of people around who order online

I think that is terrible service and an inadequate response from Interflora. I would personally take it further and complain higher up.

Although I have sent these before, seeing this has now made me think again about using Interflora in the future.

Maybe they delivered the first half of the bunch the first time and the second half the second time. :rotfl:

2 weeks ago I ordered a bunch of flowers for delivery today, but they did not arrive.

To be fair the guy on the phone was very nice, but said there was nothing they could do about it until Monday as their records said that even though he could see that the order had been placed for delivery today, it showed that the order was delivered yesterday so he had to speak to the courier(!) to find out what went wrong. I obviously hadn't received them and there was no card through the door so lord knows where they are now, and i've got to wait 2 days for them to even call let alone try and sort it out.

The thing about flowers is that it's never an inpersonal purchase, when you buy flowers it's for a reason and will generally involve someones emotions - happy or sad. If they're late, or lost or inadequate it's more than just disappointing. (hmm, that's actually a good line, I might use that when they call...!)
  • It seems we're not the only ones to have been disappointed by Interflora :(. I've done a little digging around on the web and have come across a lot of similar complaints.

Miss Qwerty, you are spot on when you say that purchasing flowers is always for a (personal) reason, making the disappointment somehow worse. I hope you get your particular situation sorted - please let us know where your flowers went when you find out!!

Suppose for a moment I felt strongly enough to take the complaint further --- where would I go? The T&C of Interflora gives the complaint channel as the one we followed (telephone, then e-mail). I'm not sure I want the aggravation, but I also came across a couple of other complaints about the florist that delivered to us on my trawl around the web.
