Morning OSers :hello:
Big thanks to Nels - she's given me an extra week to prepare for Christmas :j
We're £56 further in debt as the orthodontist decided DS1 still needs to wear twin blocks
DS1 was very depressed, poor kid. I'm even more depressed as I lost the receipt as there was a chance I could have claimed back the money. Doh!
So lots of tidying up today (mainly to find the flipppin' receipt). Still need to write a proper meal plan and then shop for it.
It's Wednesday so it's Reading Group Day
I lead a guided reading group at DD2's school for an hour or so on a Wednesday afternoon. Usually it's fine, but sometimes it's very difficult not to loose concentration. The children take turns to read aloud to the group, and as long as what I see on the page is the same as what is coming in through my ears it sometimes misses my brain altogether.
Very embarrassing when Little Jonny asks a question. Speed read to catch up whilst saying "Actually, Little Jonny, that's a very good question." Must try harder.
Then helping tonight at Brownies
I may not be here tomorrow. 14,000 (slight exaggeration, they move around alot) over-excited pre-teen girls on a glitter and tinsel fest. "It's a far, far better thing I do now ......................"
Have an good day all.
PW

Today i am off to help put the christmas trees up at boys school which im looking forward too as they have real trees and they smell beautiful. I have to help today as i will not be able to help at the xmas fair on fri as mil + fil who live on east coast dropped it on us that they are coming over to stay this weekend!
I love them coming but told them friday wasnt good for us this week, as i was ment to be going out with old friend from preston, iv not seen her for months, but they decided they are coming on fri anyway, so night out canceled:mad:
Plus dh at work this sat and boys have early footy match so im going to either leave them here ot kick em out!!
So after trees are up at school its home to mega tidy up. Loads of washing to be done WM on its first load, and just about to do pack up before the kids surface!!
Have a great day all

Morning all! Off to w*** today, but just thought I'd pop on here quickly!
Made my Christmas puds at the weekend, and we all had a stir and a wish. I put gingerbread spice into the oil burner, too, so the house smells very festive! Last year I soaked my fruit for my cake for ages, and didn't get around to making the cake until very late on. I found that it made the cake very moist, without needing to feed the cake (feed the fruit in advance IYSWIM) so I've been doing that again. Will make the cake at the weekend. Then need to make mincemeat, and about 200 mince pies!
Have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Hiya everybody,
I thought it was only me who got the dates mixed up when I start the thread. Glad I'm in good company.
Had another busy day at the house. DH took some pictures so will load them on the puter later on and might post a few. Think we are in for a storm tonight as it's come over all overcast. Have no idea what I"m cooking for tea. It will include a can of pink salmon so probably fish cakes or a mornay. Iv'e got icecream and fruit for dessert.
If anybody is admiring my festive avatar, Wanty did it. She's done a fantastic job and for free too.
OS has arrived safe and sound. Will see him tomorrow, he just rang before. I hear thunder now so better get tea sorted out in case the power goes off which it regulary does in the summer storms. Does not pay to have a full freezer I can tell you.
Hope you all have a lovely day and (((((((((hugs)))))) to those off colour & tired. ByeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning everyone :hello:
Ooooh, it's a shame it isn't the 22nd (again). I would be getting paid (again) in two days.
Aussie the avatar is very festive. How did you manage to model for Wanty?
Wanty you did a fantastic job.
DD goes off on her residential trip today. She kept saying " Mum, I've got butterflies in my tummy, I'm so excited". Awww, bless. I hope she enjoys her time away but I don't know how she will do as she has never been away from her whole family for more than one sleepover. We'll soon see I suppose.
DS was told that if he didn't clean his room he would lose his pocket-money for the last two weeks. Quite an incentive then, as he has done the best job ever of cleaning the pit that is his room. :j
W**k today then home to try and get to grips with all those jobs that seem to have fallen by the wayside recently. I really want the house to be shining before I even think of getting the crimbo decs down from the attic.
Time for porridge now then maybe some fruit salad. Lunch is a turkey salad sandwich and dinner will be chicken balti with brown basmati rice.
Have a wonderful Wednesday everyone. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all

Not much for me today. Went home last night and did manage to clean the house although in my mind it was just a light clean as this weekend is the big big big winter clean
Started on the ironing but I still can't see the bottom of the pile  so that will be tonights job along with finalising all the Christmas lists.
Nothing much else to report. Hope everyone has a great day
As always take or leave the :grouphug: as neededYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
Hi folks,
not posted for a while, then I saw the date and that threw me completely:rotfl: . Have not read any threads for a week, so big hugs to all that need them. Have really missed reading up, so will try to do better this week!!
Slowly but surely filling th new freezer with HM stuff. Phew! Taking it's time, but I know it will be worth it for Christmas!
Made yog for the first time at the weekend and quite pleased with the results.
Also went to first panto of the season at the weekend. It was a village panto in the local hall. Extremely funny, well written, fantastically delivered by the amateurs, and barracked by the audience - and choc ices on sale at the break!! Festive fun for all! :j
At w**k this morning, but hopefully shopping this afternoon, otherwise there will be nothing to wrap and put under the tree:eek:
Have a good day everyone,

Good morning to all.
Where do you get your hair and body stuff from Snowy Owl?
I have to go to the Mall today (large shopping centre) to retrieve DD1 mobile phone. She broke it - it was insured but they still charged her £25 to repair it!!!! Will go to Hobby Craft and get a few bits to make a few cards. I know most of you will have had them made for months! I expect I may end up in Costa Coffee as well as I will be tired and have to have a sit down! lol
Had to take OH to the station again this morning for a very early start so I am a head so far. I expect that posting on here will knock me back again.
Not much OS today, Should do WM, should do BM and should do SC but probably won't!
Have a lovely day everyone.
