New here, at the end of my tether

just a couple of things,
1, Mobile phone - you can still downgrade the tariff you are on even if you are still contracted. Give the provider a ring and ask to be put onto the cheapest tariff for the rest of the contract.
2, Check the small print or make a quick phone call to your car insurer to see if you have to wait till renewal to change providers - you do not always have to wait till renewal to cancel.
all the best and good luck - OOPS:cool: Official DFW Nerd Club Member #37 Debt free Feb 07 :cool:0 -
Will ring to downgrade the tarriff today, thx for that!
Daughter is on Shared Residency, so no maintenance is paid. In actuality she spends 7/14 nights with me, 5/14 with her dad, and 2/14 with his mum. He is NOT open to any negotiation re the CB and CTC, and yet still tries to manipulate things so I can't get to work. It is a NIGHTMARE and I have been living through it for nearly 5 years. Add to this my last partner who has landed me in difficulty, and my lads' dad who waltzed off leaving me on benefits with 3 small kids years ago, and now has job on £30k, partner £20k, had to fight thru CSA for 6 years to get only paultry maintenance which has now stopped anyway, and as I say I am at the end of my tether.
I have just registered with Payplan. Thanks to all who have recommended them. Am waitin on a call now.
Very low at the minute. Waiting for said feelings og relief to kick in. Cheers guys. Debs.0 -
How long did anyone have to wait for Payplan to ring them after registering please?
Thanks, Debs.0 -
Cant you just ring tax credits up and swap it over? I know you are frightened, but my ex was abusive and in the end I had to just face him out.

I agree with Lynz about getting rid of Sky and changing mobile to PAYG (my mobile costs me about £10 every 3 months as I only use it for emergencies). Other than that I can't see much you can cut back on.
You are very strong as you have kicked out 2 partners who were using you, so well done for that! It takes a lot to do that. Now use that strength to improve your finances. You can do it with all the help you will get on here. Finally Debt Free After 34 Years, But Still Need to Live Frugally

Well now I feel worse. Payplan can't help as I don't have any spare income to offer the creditors, and the lender that my mortgage/ unsecured is with won't deal with them. If I didn't have the car I would have the spare income, but as it is secured on the car they can't. I am now at my wits end. Can't see a way forward. Thought this would help but I just feel worse.0

Have come up with my own plan, it's that or disappear I think. Keep all household bills up to date, pay the mortgage on the house, pay £1 per month to all creditors for the foreseeable future, and make an offer to the HP co for the car of £84 per month until my circs improve. Could I please ask for someone to give their opinion on this?0
