Anybody ever, or know of anybody who ever tried that?

    What? Tried emailing the MD?

It has been discussed on this site before.

If you are going to rule out all possibilities in attempting to get your money back, then just forget it.

When I bought my house I negotiated a deal whereby the vendor(a friend) continued to pay the Sky subscription @ his old/my new property, I hope he doesnt renege on our deal & try to reclaim his money !

You appear to either not like me or have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I was just asking a question! I've spent the last few days stressed out of my mind and I seem to be in a much better mood than you!

You seem to be happy to be fobbed off.

You have been paying money for a service you have not been receiving for two years, no need to suddenly get stressed.

You should have a nice little windfall coming soon, depending on the monthly DD, so think of this as a bonus, you just need to just through some hoops to get your money back.

You asked a question and then dismissed one of the answers.

If you are happy not to pursue every avenue then fine, kiss the money goodbye.

Yeah I cancelled the DD today. How do I "escalate" the issue? I've been talking to them for three days and got nowhere. Always the same response. "Sorry Sir, we can't find your old account". Basically fobbing me off. It's obviously an issue which is too complex for the normal call centre guys.

In my experience, it's better to write to Sky than to try to deal with their call centre assistants. Once you put it in writing, that creates a paper trail which if necessary can be shown to the regulator, so Sky HAVE to take it seriously and respond.

I've heard of Sky doing this before & the most Sky would refund was six month's worth of payments.

    Do calm down.

Your earlier reply led me to believe that you thought emailing the MD not worth the effort.

My apologies I see you were only seeking clarification.

Given that you have been giving Sky money for two years needlessly perhaps the time-scale of "forever" will not be as long as you suppose?

    Worth a try surely?

    Why is that?

Do they not admit it was "their" fault and give six months back as a goodwill gesture?
