Grumbler is quite right. Don't contact them; what they don't know can't hurt you. That particualr t&c really means provided you don't return the handset to them in exchange for a different one (with a different value). Ignore it and them when you can.
  • Hi,

Found this thread very interesting as I'm considering using mobiles.co.uk for a 24 month cashback contract. I have previously used e2save and carphonewarehouse (CPW) for cashback phone contracts and have always been paid out. Therefore is my trust in mobiles.co.uk validated as this is also a CPW company?

One of my other questions was clarifying the term in their conditions about using a the original handset and although the above posts say this is not an issue, has anyone who has changed phones had any problems with cashback?

    Thanks

I used their sim in an old mobile phone, it was fine.

I have been using mobiles.co.uk and e2save for few years now for many contracts. Their system is one of the easy to follow.
If you log into your account on mobiles.co.uk, insert order number and email address it will inform you what dated bills you need to send. Just follow the list. Once paid it will say that.

As easy as that as long as:
The bill is sent within 60 days, aim to send the bill within a week or two as if you get it wrong you can resend. You will get informed by text or email, if you don't hear anything within a week check with them or resend.

Another plus point with mobiles.co.uk and e2save is you get all cashback paid in 18 months even if you have 24 month contract, others take 24 months

Unlike many others you also need to send a bill for that month only. Other companies for example say you need to send the 6th bill will make you send all bills from one to six month, if you have lost one or can't get a reprint than no cashback.

I think some people are either living in the past or trying to make the process sound more complicated than it is.

If you are new to cashback read the terms for cashback first and print them for reference. Set yourself reminder when to send the bills.
If you follow the steps you can save yourself a lot of £.

Mobiles.co.uk and e2save are CPW companies so unlikely to go under, don't forget it can take 18 months (24 months with others) to get all cashback.

And what if you get the confirmation of approval, then don't get anything in 28 days?
What if you call them in 28 days and they tell you to wait another 28 days?
What if in 28 days you still don't get the cheque?
What if they again suggest you to wait 21-35 days more?

Is it still "as easy as that"?

Yes, it was a very remote past. Sep 2011 - Jan 2012.
And yes, it's the 21st century nowadays and the only reason CPW companies use cheques, not BACS transfers, is to postpone payments as much as possible.

As long as you have received the confirmation to say your payment is processed, you can check this under your account, and if the cheque was to go missing, it will be resent. You need to let them know by email or phone.
What you are saying can happen to any product such as your credit card, pin number, cheque book from your bank or if you have ordered anything online. If not received you need to let them.

At least with CPW you know it will be around in 2 years and unlike others don't force you to send all bills and look for ways not to pay. With CPW if you did miss one payment for whatever reason and as long as its not for the month you need to send the bill for, you will be ok.

Care to share? I know, some phone number does exist, but they've done their best to make it secret and they've done this for a reason. E-mail is nice in the 21st century. The only problem is that it takes up to "6(!) working(!) days" their "dedicated(!) customer services team" to respond. Even a snail mail can be faster.
What you are saying can happen to any product such as your credit card, pin number, cheque book from your bank or if you have ordered anything online. If not received you need to let them.
If this happens any bank will apologise and do their best to deliver the missing item ASAP, not offer to wait for 4 weeks, then 5 weeks more. Nowadays money arrive the next day from Australia. AFAIK, CPW is a UK company.

And yes, my next redemption contracts are very likely to be with CPW & Co again, but I don't underestimate the possible difficulties and don't post misleading comments like "as easy as that".

It is as easy as that as long as the correct bill is sent on time. The difficulties are you may forget to send the bill on time, you don't send the correct bill, use the non sign for service rather then email or recorded.

The telephone number, the address, email address and the cashback form are under customer service. Sending the form by email make it bit easy now.
It seem some people here are trying to make the process sound very difficult for some reason. Might be to show their importance. No trick to it, as long as you send the correct bills on time no one will loss out.

From all cashback companies CPW process is easy to follow then others.

Really? In the story posted above
    • The bill was submitted on time.
    • "Claim approved' and "Claim paid"(!) confirmations were received the next day.
No trick to it, as long as you send the correct bills on time no one will loss out.
Of course they will not - if they are prepared to start the legal actions or to chase the company for many weeks, then to start the legal actions if necessary. This is something that is missing in your misleading "as easy as that" manual for newbies.
From all cashback companies CPW process is easy to follow then others.
A process easy to follow is not always the same as a cashback easy to get.

It never fails to amaze me how people pop and and encourage people to go blindly into ANY cashback deals so glibly. There is a LONG history of various CPW companies

    1) providing not only ambiguous but simply contradictory information of claim dates/months - one of my people received just such completely contradictory information by email, their on-line account AND with their phone within the last few WEEKS. Anyone simply counting bill numbers (yet anouther common mistake) or blindly following any particular set of dates provided afterwards as opposed to the t&c at the point of sale is throwing a dice.

    2) At various times all cpw clones have denied perfectly legitimate cashback claims, paid late and thereby broken their own t&c, bounced cheques (a more recent phenomenom), attempted to change and/or ignore their own t&c and a lot more.

When things are going well it IS easy - but, as most of my people found recently, things can get choppy and sometimes force is required.

The simplistic voices of encouragement may be based on a handful of pleasant experiences; my experience is based on scores of such contracts - a great many with cpw companies - over at least 5 years. "Living in the past" is usually something the amateurs are doing; I live in the present, and there is NO room for complacency unless you don't mind losing your money.
