Assuming they don't get any bigger once the head is formed, this is my official entry.
A mighty 10'6", measured last night. I can't measure and take a photo at the same time so you'll have to trust me. It's a 5' fence panel on top of a 1' gravel board, if you want some scale. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

I'm alot more windy here than you are <and a load more of other excuses> LOL.
My first one topped out with one huge head and about 7 or 8 other small ones which shot up above it, spectacular, but I never got around to taking a photo of it in full bloom, it's gone over now. I think my 2nd one is still going, haven't looked at it for a while.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0

I was pleased to get past the 10' barrier. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

My official entry and best of the bunch is measured at 2.9M...Some of them have died off now Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). There are 7 open heads on this one (one is obscured by another, honest ). I hope that there will soon be more, but I'm posting it today because judging by the wind it'll be having a little lie down tomorrow. ). Very unusual Mr example...looks like a man eating triffid...attach some canes with cable ties to give them some support in the breeze...
I think we should now launch the Official MSE make Britain Sunnier campaign..
 This is what we do...
Once your sunflowers have sadly started to fade, immortalise them. Extract all the seeds..there will be hundreds. Save loads of them and put them in a dark container/brown paper bag..the excess..leave out for the birdies.
Now next Spring..plant some more of your seeds in the garden and hte rest...well just randomly plant them in the geen spaces all over your neighbourhood and parks..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0
