    I've been Money Tipped!
My little chooks got to the planted out sunflowers yesterday. TBH I don' believe they'd grown a centimetre since planting out anyway.

hose still in the seed tray are doing brilliantly, but looking cramped. I've since read its a bad idea to start in pots because of the tap root. OOPS.

I am of the opinion that you have to get them started off in the right frame of mind. ;)

If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.
  • Mine are all growing.

Donated some of the packet to the boyfriend, who has commandeered a patch in his mother's garden, ostensibly for beans. She mentioned on the phone last night that some of his bean plants are looking a bit funny.

She's going to get a shock when she finds out he has planted a grove of giant sunflowers.

I've just planted half a dozen sunflower seeds, can I join in, I'm a complete beginner though, so don't really hold out much hope of them reaching more than six inches or so before i manage to murder them lol

You even gave them a bamboo. Posh!
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

That's just a temporary measure to support the seedling. I expect I'll have to use a telegraph pole or something, by the time it's fully grown. :D

    Consider yourselves beaten!

OK, perhaps not :rotfl: . Mine are currently still sat in their seed packet. Me and the gf had planned on growing a few out this year anyway when I stumbled upon this thread, so I best get planting eh!

My single joint effort has survived! And is growing on strongly. I don't think it's going to be the tallest, but it's certainly going to be the tallest quickest :D
I'll measure it later and give you all height paranoia.
