Has anyone got any tips about Camber Sands, never been thereabouts before... I understand there might be a great view of the Nuclear Power Station:eek:

I understand there might be a great view of the Nuclear Power Station:eek:[/ Camber sands has a brilliant beach, lovely sand dunes and is great if you like the beach and the weather is fine be careful of the sea there as it is shallow to walk out of but it can become deep and it could become dangerous, so dont let your kids venture out to far on there own.......I love camber sands and am going again in july to pontins this year, some people like it others dont it all depends on what you want from your break, you can walk to the beach as its just across the road from pontins, there are little walk throughs to the beach, theres a post office a little shop a chip shop and think a cafe on the main road outside pontins, and a pub or two actually in walking distance of pontins, just by the beach there are a couple of little arcades, they are old, but do the job for the kids, there is also a cafe on the beach and a place you can buy lilos bucket spades etc..... tell the truth theres not much at camber but i love it.... Theres also a shop on the entrance into pontins it sells allsorts and is very reasonable, not over the top prices..... You can drive into rye, which is a little town near camber only a few miles away, its an old fashoined town, but does hold a market on certain day of the week, but you need to ask someone else about that as I cant remember which day, think its either tues or thurs, but ask first.......... cant think of much else to tell you as I cant think of anything else of importance...... as for the nuclear site, i have never seen it, unless its new...... anyway have a lovely holiday, remember you break is what you make it yourself, have fun........ and dont believe everythink people say till you experience it yourself.... there not much there, but its a break and im sure your kids will have fun as mine always do...........Its a bit like marmite, youll either love it or youll hate it..... well I love it!!!..... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

We had a 4 night holiday there last year & my kids (8&5) adored ever minute! The beach was fab (had brilliant weather which always helps), Pontin's camp was a bit "tired" but everywhere we went was clean (my main worry as have read some toe curling reviews of different holiday parks!) & all the staff were genuinely pleasant & made a huge effort to entertain everyone. Swimming pool was clean & we went there every day.

We went on a bus adventure to Hastings & ate winkles on the sea front, & had a scenic trip through lots of villages - Rye looked lovely & I'd certainly like to go back there & explore it. We also went to the aquarium at Hastings - think they were doing 2 for 1 entry on some websites, so it may be worth searching this site & google for deals.

Dungeness is nearby - well worth a quick drive by as the cottages are just so unusual. The power station is also quite a sight to see!

My only grumble (& its a tiny one) is that the sofa bed was really uncomfortable, so I ended up sleeping on the mattress on the floor, which was really comfortable, as I'd also taken a spare duvet. Kids single beds were fine though.

I would take a desk lamp if you want to read at night, as there were only overhead lights, & I also took a toaster. Most chalets dont have microwaves, so you may want to take one too. If you need a dark room to sleep in you may want an eye mask, as the curtains are very flimsy & let lots of light in.

We had a wonderful time & I'd definately go back if we lived nearer - we are
5 hours away & with traffic the trip back was awful! I expect you'll have a wonderful time! :D

We're off to Brean in September - can't wait! :j
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Back from 8 nights at Hemsby, had a lovely time, camp had been tidied up and all outside bits painted, our challet was recently decorated too only let down was mould behind the sink which was reported twice but nothing done.

All staff were very friendly and the bluecoats were as good as ever.

I noticed a new code advertised on camp for the £60 offer its RB08 you can use this to book for next year and low season this year
