  • I quoted this code 0701 16th july, southport, 4 nights, £140. Was I supposed to be charged £60? There are 2 adults 4 yr old, 2yr old & 1 yr old. Please help!

i got a letter from pontins yesterday, saying i hadn't used my code yet. it's the 0701 code everyone else has - the letter says FROM £60 for a family of four - do you need 2 bedrooms and a sofa in the lounge, or could the 1 year old sleep in a travel cot/share your bed etc? one way of getting around the extra charge could be booking for 4 and accidentally forgetting that you're bringing the baby with you. we did that last year when booking a sun token holiday. i don't know if you get passes for entering the swimming pool etc. though, and if under-4's need a pass.

zippybungle we went to cleethorpes last year on a sun token holiday and we loved it. the campsite is really lovely, there's a duckpond by the golf course etc. and lots of green areas - we had a crawling baby at the time. pity it's a haven and not a pontins :rotfl:

We went on a 'Sun' Holiday too. Yes, Cleethorpes is nice, I would go back there again.
When we went to Pontins  we stayed in the most basic challet which had 1 bedroom with 2 beds, a lounge which was also our bedroom, livingroom and kitchen  We put our travel cot in the kitchen area.

I'm just wondering what that pontins place at HEMSBY is like? Worth going?

We've just come back from one of those £60 weekends in Prestatyn and it was fine. We've now stayed in a classic and a club at prestatyn and both were fine. Of course it is a "budget" type holiday but a cheap weekend away and great for kids up to about 8 or 9.

Im afraid i havnt read the whole thread, but we went last year for £30 (was free but upgraded).
It was awful - and we left after 1 night!
The rooms are filthy. I spent some time cleaning - expecially the front patio doors....vile!
Th entertainment is.......well, we were bored so drove off to find our own elsewhere!
For £60 id get 2 nights in travelodge somewhere nice in UK and explore the area!

You get a tv in the other chalets but they're not digital (guess they'l have to change that soon), the electric is on a meter (how it was always done in the old style camps, Butlins, etc) cost us about £2.50 for the weekend last year, towels were not included but can be hired, and as for bedding I'm not sure, I thought they did provide it last year, I'll have to check
hey there's no money but we couldn't be happier if we tried

We stayed at Hemsby in the cheapest challet (which was vile!!!)
The area is nice though, and the camp is within walking distance to the beach and ammusements.
We tried to spend as little time as possible on camp!

Just got back from Hemsby today we stayed in a 2 bedroom club and it was fantastic, very clean, digital TV, microwave, free newspaper, electricity etc. The camp was not full but the entertainment was excellant. The vouchers for the drinks and food are very helpful too. The weather was great, spent day at Hemsby beach and went swiming every day in the pool. I have booked to go back in June and twice in July. You can book as many as you like with this code as Pontins would rather sell at £60 than the chalets be empty. We really enjoed the break and cant wait to go back to Hemsby.
