Cheap Holidays at Pontins £60 Club Grade, limited availability

Just come back from a weekend at Pontins in Hemsby, and we had a lovely time. Our 2 year old loved it. The apartment was lovely, the only problem was the moldy back wall. Everything you needed was there, a good shower, microwave, fridge, cooker etc. The stuff for the kids was superb and the staff were very good. All in all I thought it was very good value at £65, I would certainly upgrade to the Club accomadation, we did only as they said it was gound floor and with young man, steps can be a pain. There was tea and coffee and free newspapers with Club accomadation.
We will go back.

I quoted this code 0701 16th july, southport, 4 nights, £140. Was I supposed to be charged £60? There are 2 adults 4 yr old, 2yr old & 1 yr old. Please help!0

I have to agree with you.
We went to Pontins last year and the 'classic' challet was horrible! Everything was in a very bad state of repair, carpets were 'sticky' the bed was terrible, fag burns in everything, holes in curtains, sofa, whiffy aroma....... we did have a good holiday though as we were out all day every day as we didn't want to stay in the challet!
This year we have been to Haven (Cleethorpes) and stayed in a 'silver' caravan - much much better (in my opinion). Basic but clean! :A

My OH heard someone tell of a nightmare holiday yesterday and guess what it was at Pontins Brean Sands:eek: just where we have booked for.... anyone been there can slightly put my mind at rest? apparently the guy said the place was awful and the chalets in a dreadful state...
Hiya, I'm afraid I cant put your mind at rest. Me and my partner are in no way snobby about our holiday accomodation as we tend to explore the local area rather than sit on site all day, therefore dont see a lot of it.
However, after arriving at Brean Sands last September I was soon in tears. The chalets look like prison cells, only they are dirtier. We were moved from our first chalet as the enamel was missing from the bottom of our bath and I feared I would slice my bottom open! Our new chalet was no better, there were holes punched in the back of the door and the light fittings were hanging out of the ceiling. The bedroom consisted of two tiny single beds so we slept on a sofa bed which took up THE WHOLE OF THE LIVING/DINING/KITCHEN AREA!!! The light pulls were missing so I had to stand on a chair to put the light on and there was a 3 foot hole in the carpet!
The clubroom area and any part of the site designed to take your money was well looked after and plush but the accomodation was worse than horrendous. I have some photo's but they dont really show the full horror. If all Pontins sites are this bad I am amazed that they are still running and havent been shut down.0 -
Sorry Tanith, I cant put your mind at rest either. My friend walked out of Pontins in Brean and demanded her money back. She wouldn't go for free.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

We have two of these breaks booked for £60 and I wasnt sure of the apartment type. So I phoned. We are in classic ... oh dear ... how much to upgrade to club? another £60. So I left it.
We are booked for Prestatin next month and Hemsby June. Any comments regarding classic at the above?0
