Wey, can you give us a bit more info on your debts? Whether they are loans or credit cards, APR's, minimum payments, term of loan, that sort of thing?
Now going back to Sky, have you thought about at least reducing your package? Getting rid of say the movie channels if you have them?
Perhaps you can post an updated SOA with your new outgoings?
Re sky we are going to look at the packages and then choose a different oneHave you got a job yet?
NO? Then :shhh:0 -
Hi Wey, well done for sticking with us
You're doing great with getting stuff sorted out and making changes. Good for you.
Keep your chin up and try not to get overwhelmed with it all. There are days when I feel fantastic because I've made a saving / reached a target / opened a bank statement without feeling sickBut there are still days when I just want to hide under the duvet because it can all seem a bit much to deal with.
All the best to you and your family

Hi Weymuff sorry I missed your thread first time around so I'm not up to speed on your disability/daughters etc, but with regards to your water bill we're on a meter too but have a special tariff for what they consider vulnerable customers and its capped at £24 a month.Do enquire about it asap as I'm sure a lot of companies do this its just not publicised very well!!!
Regards to the girls needs if you get dla for them you are entitled to extra taxcredits too. Then there are the kids charities also vocational charities..I've always been too proud to ask for help but this time last year it got to the stage where I had to so do consider it
I also remember reading that you can claim carers allowance even if you yourself are disabled so maybe you could get more help,I'm sure it was on the benefits board somewhere??
Best of luck in sorting yourself out0 -
I don't know if this has been mentioned before, re shopping, I have found that I save a fortune every week by doing my shopping online, I use asda as the delivery charge is only £3.99, and there are often money off vouchers flying around the coupons board.
I find that shopping online makes it much easier to keep to my budget, I have a fixed amount I want to spend (£40 a week including all cleaning/laundry products and toiletries for 3 of us) It's easy to make sure you don't miss any of the special offers so you can maximise your budget, and I find it much easier to shop to a meal plan online than when I'm in the shop. Then obviously you haven't got the temptation of impulse purchases.
I used to spend at least £60-£70 a week when I shopped in person and often bought loads of stuff we didn't need and often ended up in the bin because it went out of date. And very very best of all I don't have any of the hassle of the supermarket, I just click and put away LOL0 -
I hope you don't think I am speaking out of turn here but how old are your daughters? I'm sure you said before but I forget!
I know you live near me and I am planning to give my wardrobe a good clear out.... would you be interested in any of it?
I hope you won't be offended by me asking.
My stuff will all be about a size 10 if that is any good?Debt free date - June 2008 :T :T :T0 -
Lovely to have you back, Weymuffred :-)
You asked people to re-post their advice - not sure I can remember all my two ha'pence worth, but it was thoughts about reducing the pressie bill. I know you live near extended family so I guess that's part of it.
1) if any of your relatives also have children, could you agree with them only to buy for the children?
2) DIY tokens: not from B&Q but from you. Things that mean something and cost nothing, such as vouchers for a walk on the seafront or a game of Monopoly or weeding a flower bed (for an older person)... My kids enjoyed cashing theirs in with me!
Verbatim - it's getting very crowded in this 'ere shoe box, what with all the tomatoes and left-over veg. ;-)

Hiya
In realtion to your porrly dogs. I lot of animal tablets can be brought online much cheaper. Its now illegal for a vet not to issue you with a prescription for your animal. Does you bottles that the tablets come in state the streghts of the tablets. There is articles on MSE about doing this and it is safe.
Having worked for a vet I can say with honesty that the mark up on tablets is silly but they do it cause you know you will pay. Why not have a google for suppliers. Im not saying all of those will be avalable online but you never know
Good luck2007 is my getting slim year

Me again
all of those dog medicines are available online and im sure they will be muxh cheaper than your vets (apaprt from Lasix that I couldnt find but will continue to look for )
check out a site called viovet
Just a thought have you ever thought about going back to the centre where you got the dog from and asking them for help. It maybe that they will let dog see the vet and you pay for the medicine (buying it cheaper online)2007 is my getting slim year
