Probably best to add a new post so we can see the differences and maybe we can advise how to cut back further still.
  • I posted about buying a digisender which will save you the extra you pay for Sky Multiroom, however it means you watching the same channels! (I didnt realise this till ages after I posted)

You buy them from Argos, we use a digisender in the kitchen and the bedroom. They cost about £60 from Argos.

I also think you need to do a spending diary to see where the £900 housekeeping goes. Try using cheaper cleaning products and making meals from scratch.

A good meal to cook on the cheap is spaghetti bolognese. I buy a frozen pack of mince from Tesco (just over £1) a large onion, tin of chopped tomatoes, a few mushrooms and a packet mix so about £2 in all. I get at least five meals out of that if you use a good dollop of rice (dirt cheap). I also fill it up a bit with bits of veg from the fridge (cucumber, leeks, spring onions whatever). Sounds weird but tastes lush. You could do the same with curry but that would be slightly more expensive depending on whether you use chicken or trurkey (diced turkey is quite cheap in tesco).
  • I would edit the first post with the changes you have made. I love sugar soap, vinegar and baby wipes for cleaning. Try getting tips from the OS board to cut shopping bills.
