Hey I just wanted to say good luck and I hope things work out well for you - I think that it's tough enough dealing with people with special needs/mental health difficulties, as well as debt, so I just want to say that I will be thinking of you xxNSD November 1/20 :money:
Crap 1, Simple Be, Next, VANQUIS, TESCO, VERY, EMPIRE, ADDITIONS, HALIFAX C/C, HALIFAX LOAN, STUDENT LOAN
Make £10 a day in November £34.57/£450 :eek:0 -

I am well aware you cant have what you cant afford thankyou.
One of the posts that I have just read said that you cant watch football without Sky.
I was pointing out that most people have NEVER been able to afford football or any other sport on sky, so perhaps you should consider yourself lucky that you have had it once.
Just trying to help by telling you that it is not really normality to expect such as the full sky package.0 -
every person is different and jsut because some people accept things doesnt mean the other has to. I am not the only who likes sports so having to explain that something is being taken away and for them to accept it, well they are not accepting it and are finding it difficult to understand.Have you got a job yet?

My mistake - I thought that you had posted on here to ask for help. I was trying to help.
I posted my SOA on here a short while ago because I too am short every month. I got some brilliant suggestions - not all of which I particularly liked - i.e. stop smoking, spend less on housekeeping, dont go on holiday abroad. One of the suggestions to me was that I get rid of sky (I was paying £9.50 per month for a basic package) I also like to watch sky - its not something I just had for a laugh!
However, when I thought about it, I realised that I couldnt afford it. I didnt want to get rid of it and none of my family were happy about it. I have also cut down on smoking (will hopefully stop soon) and cut my food bill - none of those things I wanted to do - I LIKE smoking I LIKE food!! I LIKE holidays!
I will hopefully get Sky again when I can afford it.
From what I have seen here (and I have read the full thread now) is that unless someone is saying what you want to hear, you just tell them that they are being really unhelpful. I think that is unfair, as from what I can see most people just want to help.
The motto is 'be nice to all money savers' I think that works both ways.
I hope you get sorted out and get everything you want, because I am unsure of what that is.0 -

If you had of read the thread properly you will know that I have children that suffer from aspergers and we had the sky package as it helped them learn visually, so all I am doing is explaining to all you nice people on here that , yes i know changes needed to be made, but some are very much more difficult than others to implement due to their illness. The whole thing has not been nice especially for them. When people have offered help and suggestions they have been thanked, the other people can go and judge someone else.
What is a holiday btw?Have you got a job yet?

Not judging. Offering help as I said before.
My friends child has aspergers - I did read that but I dont really see the relevance, which was why i didnt mention it. I have never heard of a sky package being medicinal - and if it was surely you would get an extra benefit for it?
If you would like a holiday - cut back elsewhere and you might be able to get one.0 -
just wanted to say well done on you for all your achievements so far:T
i second the other poster who said to apply again for the sky/phone/bband package in yours/wifes name (unless you have b/band contract deal).
o/wise where does it not say that you can cancel sky and then rejoin as a new customer?
or, ask the kids to pay for it (basic x6, you will get sky sports news) at £21 - this is why the phone/bband deal is so good - can't remember how many kids you have but give them so much less pocket money a month each.
good luck!0 -

Well done for your progress so far Fred.

I have spent many years working with special needs youngsters and adults so I know what I`m talking about here.
If your children need visual stimulation, you would be better spending the money on educational video/DVD or getting the visual aid stuff from the library.. It doesn`t need to come from sky.........especially the premium channels:rolleyes:
Best of luck with your journey.1/11/06 -1/06/07 BSC #42

My wife also worked at a special needs school plus I visited there a lot of times , and you will know that everyone one of them is different, I really dont see peoples problems on here with my kids learning from channels on sky. You will also know that educational videos/dvd's and visual aid things are extremely expensive, and do you not think we might of tried it?!Plus as they are currently trapped in the house then I/we think they deserve a little bit of a treat (for want of a better way of putting it)Have you got a job yet?
