Just to add my post to those saying to ignore it.
If you check this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...p?t=2214803you will see that the latest letters are just part of their letter chain. In fact it sounds like you've just had this letter from ICC http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/iccletter.jpg/0 -

Unless you pay they will issue court papers and you will never get a job with the police [is that what you wanted to hear???].
Hurry up and pay them.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why then you're as thick and stupid as the moderators on here - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I am afraid Supersoulfighter that you have fallen into the trap set by by the parking company into believing that those letters are some sort of official document . Don't forget that they are not the police or the council, but a private company with no more power than you or me to demand money off people. Please believe all the people on here, it will not go anywhere near a court. You are taking these clowns too seriously.
You say your approach wasn't "manic" . Lets remind eveybody what you said:-
Well, I followed the advice of those kind enough to give it on here, and have now been issued with legal proceedings. So thank you very much, great help...
You must now realise that these weren't "legal proceedings" at all. For further reassurance please read the letter chains at the top of this forum. You will then see that the letter you received is no different to the many other cases featured on here. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Yep agreed this individual should pay up ASAP....allowing oneself to be intimidated by these bullies and charlatans will stand him in great stead when it comes to upholding the law as a Constable .....I hear it now "Sorry Madam clamping is a civil matter but if I were you I'd pay whatever they demand ..I did";)0

I imagine this is the (in)famous letter sent out by ICC legal Services:-

Thank you, trisontana, for your patient and informative responses on this thread. You've been a much greater help than the lesser-minded individuals on here who only seek to cast scorn and sarcasm on others from their self-appointed pedestals of "expert opinion". I thought it was obvious that I was out of my depth on this matter, hence I decided to seek out advice on these forums as people on here tend to know more about these issues than your average person, but what I have encountered so far are mainly morons who've nothing better to do than nip in with snide comments rather than attempt to offer advice.
Now, having taken in what decent advice I've been given, my next query is: although I understand that this parking company have no more enforcable rights than you or I, and although what I've received isn't a legal parking notice- what's to stop them actually contacting a court and actually issuing legal proceedings against me? I've been told it's "unlikely", but why is this so?0 -

When asking for advice that is given for free by individuals in their own time it always wise to choose one's words carefully ....sadly you have failed to exercise due diligence and as such several knowledgeable members have opted to not give said advice...that is their choice but it is I feel of your own making.
That said if you open your eyes the information you require is all over this and other forums.0 -

This is why you should never contact the parking company and ignore all correspondence from them. Actually they don't have to take people to court. Just by sending out those stupid letters full of pseudo-legal mumbo-jumbo most people get frightened and pay up. That's their "business model". It's a sort of phishing exercise with a high percentage of takers. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
