    Is there an "unthanks" button?
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

For suggesting someone buy an iPad 2 on eBay on a money saving website?

He was saying you could find them on ebay, not that you should, or that they'll be cheap.

I was gonna suggest that, until I remembered OP just wants a refund. I quite often direct customers at work to the apple store, because it's in the same shopping centre as my shop, and while it can take 2 weeks for me to send off an ipod for a repair, the apple store usually swaps them over on the spot.

Ah right, I thought if they were just unhappy with the backlight bleed they might be happy just to have a new one.

I took mine back to Apple yesterday, and it was promptly replaced with a new one (which is fine) I was worried they might not have stock, but I think they must keep some spares for replacements.

I believe that Apple stores do have a small stock they don't sell for exactly this reason. High street stores won't have.

Hi, I bought an iPad 2 on the 28th march 2011, I am going to to return it and ask for a refund on the 7th April, it will then be about 10 days old from when I since purchased it.

During this past week I have discovered a fault with the screen 'bleeding' due to the backlight, this fault has affected lots of other users on the web with their ipad2's. So when i take it back to comet can I demand a full refund instead of a replacement or repair?

I have seen that under the sales of goods act you are allowed a reasonable time to check that the goods are of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, i think 10 days is reasonable.

I will be calling trading standards on the day of the return, so do you guys think that I cam demand a refund because of this reasonable time?

    Hi Ryanfitton

We have discussed the matter with Apple direct and they have advised that they are unaware of any defect with the iPad 2

However, as they do act as out third party repair agents you will need to log the case with their helpline on 0844 209 0611, and if they do confirm the fault they will then offer a resolution.

Should you need any further help please email me direct on http://comet.custhelp.com/app/ask so that we can assist further.

    Hope this helps

Google is your friend, there are loads of video's also showing the issue.

But i guess if someone at apple told you there is no problem then you don't want to know.

That'll teach you for buying an Apple product from Comet.

    Apple customer service = excellent
Comet customer service = shoddy at best.

Still sounds like the OP just realised that a decent laptop would suffice after being caught up in all the iPad2 hype.

You can't beat a rep recommending an 0844 phone number.;)

OP....Use http://www.saynoto0870.com/ and you will find freephone numbers for Apple.
