Disabled people discriminated against by customs.

Many disabled people are cannot travel and thus cannot benefit from duty free.

Is this in breach of the disability discrimination act, and if it isn't is the act fit for purpose?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Im afraid your logic is rather twisted, apart from which many disabled people travel and use the duty free.

Im disabled and cant reach the dirty books on the top shelf. Is that discriminating against me.
The DWP = Legally kicking the Disabled when they are down.

I note from one of your previous posts that you are able to travel.
Thus it seems you do not care about disability discrimination unless it actually affects you.
That is a really disgraceful attitude from someone who is apparently disabled.

I note in that thread that you complain about not being able to get discounts from Ferry operators. Now how would you feel if someone who could not travel came on and and made trite remarks like yours such as
well I can't travel anyway so why should I care?

So if you want support from me for you discounts you know what you can do (visit the newsagents and ask for a hand).

As the UK does not offer duty free goods to any of it's own citizens, how would you intend to enforce the DDA? Indeed, how would you enforce the DDA anyway, now that it has been superceded?

It is not really my problem is it.

The point is that disabled people are discriminated against.

Do you accept this or not?

You seem to want to cloud and confuse the issue for some reason.

No, I think you are talking tosh. No one has a right to buy anything at a certain price, so no right is being breached.

The disabled have a right not to be discriminated against, shops have to provide access for the disabled to enable them to shop, thus customs should have to provide a method for the disabled to get duty free good available to able bodied people.

It is issue of access the disabled would still have access to duty free goods just as they should have access to shops and public buildings.

Again, you are missing the issue - duty free 'shops' are not in the UK, and hence subject to different laws.

I don't think disabled people are being discriminated against with regard to this. This is because I don't believe it is an actual issue.

You obviously do though, so I'm interested to hear what you're doing about it? :)

The issue is that the laws (customs) discriminate against the disabled hence your point is invalid.

Customs are covered by UK laws and thus should not discriminate.
