I was in majorca 2 years ago when a car bomb killed 2 policemen across the road from the hotel we were staying in,should we keep away from spain too. I am going to turkey this year and i am not worried at all, if you think like that you will never go anywhere,we must not let terrorists win.0

Depends whether your words were designed to put unnecessary doubt into the mind of the readers (many) or not.
Absolutely.
Don't we always like the last word? I haven't noticed a post on this thread that's agreed with your initial comments yet (except Nobjocki!).
I think the travel agent had already put the doubt there. I was simply answering the question asked.
What initial comments? My post (shown in bold below) was factual and from the FO site.
There has been a lot of civil unrest recently in Turkey. Tourist areas seem unaffected but in the past there have been incidents in those kinds of areas."
What, in that statement, is open to argument? Your problem is that you love Turkey and cannot conceive anyone could think differently. I don't like it particularly, and intend to say so whether that suits you or not.
Nowhere is safe, so you just have to get on with travelling and if the worst happens, you deal with it imo.
The OP however, may not feel like that, and he is entitled to feel differently. both about travel, and about a particular country.
As are we all.;)0 -

Very few, if any, countries get a clean bill of health on FCO Travel Advice. How does the advice for Turkey compare with Italy, a favourite of yours?
Very favourably I'd say, but do you refer posters to it before replying to a post? No, of course you don't:p0 -
The OP specifically asked about the "Govt site" had he not I would not have referred to it. How hard is that to understand?
I seem to recall we discussed Istanbul in an earlier thread, did I lik to the FO site then? no, because it hadn't been asked about.
If another poster had asked about the govt site relating to Italy I would have linked to that. You do have a bee in your bonnet over this!!0 -

I was not alone in giving the site.....probably because it answered the question!!May have skimmed it - mainly the south-east and parts of Istanbul:

Which text from the link?0 -
http://www.fco.gov.uk/en/travel-and-living-abroad/travel-advice-by-country/europe/italySafety and security
Safety and Security - Terrorism There is a general threat from terrorism. Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places frequented by expatriates and foreign travellers.

Safety and Security - Terrorism
There is a high threat from terrorism in Turkey and a number of terrorist groups remain active in the country. Statements have been made in the press indicating that attacks could take place against tourists or places used by foreigners.
However, as you have asked for text here it is, and a comparison between Italy and Turkey in terms of FCO assessment re threat level. One high, one general.0 -
This is not strictly Turkey-related, but...
Of course, the FO (specifically the British Embassy in Moscow) once gave out the following advice for Brits travelling on the Trans Siberian rail routes:
Take a length of wire or something similar to close the carriage compartment door shut.
This, as anyone who's been on a Russian train can tell you, is a load of clap trap - the compartment doors have a highly-effective drop-in locking system, and you'd wire it shut, what about in an emergency?0 -
When i last went to turkey it was when princess Diana was killed. I remember reading a double page spread in a national newspaper that there was going to be blood baths on the beaches for tourists, needless to say nothing happened, there are always people who want to scaremonger. Get on with life and go to turkey if you want,we lived with the ira for long enough over here.0
