It's difficult I know. The way I see it is, people who already comp probably do it in one of 2 ways, as the comps are posted or by end date. Those who comp as they are posted would see them on the day, those who comp by end date see them at the end. If the end date is too long, they are over before the end daters see them, if it's too short, the 'Instant' compers see them and the 'End Daters' catch them. The only people who miss out are new compers who haven't got a Snowballs chance of doing every comp before they end anyway. Or am I simplifying it too much?

but who does it hurt to loose them to go early?

they can be moved back of we ask a bg and a new end date used instead.

if they are posted with a later end date then people who enter by end date loose out if its already ended.

people who enter by newly posted and either keep up or keep a day or too behind will get it at the same time no matter what end date is used unless im missing something?

an entry is an entry whether its weeks before the end date or on the end date.....no its not ideal to have them in game over weeks early...but i really cant see the numbers of people missing out on entering them if they are as compared to the numbers missing out because they are posted and ended before the end date or guessed end date?

please tell me what im missing?

I comp as they are posted then I switch to "Likeability" view.I then page hop.
Even doing this I miss some comps. If they are in GO I really will miss them when I randomly look about.
There is no one-fit solution that will satisfy all.Maybe as was suggested recently ie mark guessed comps with a date of E: 99/99 then expire as needed.
As you can tell I'm not an end date comper. Each to their own but surely they must miss loads that get pulled early by the promotors?

For me, I look through all the most recently posted comps, and then subscribe to all the ones I am interested in. I then enter them in order of their end dates, ie the ones expiring sooner have priority over those with a far away end date...I find this a very effective way to keep on top of it all. I should add that having entered a comp, I press Thanks, Enter and then Unsubscribe, so my subscription list does not get too cluttered.

This is more or less what I do but insted of subscribing I save the ones I want to enter in folders in 'Favourites' named January, February etc. Once I have clicked 'Sort by name' they are in date order and I just work through them.

there is a comp here. I have searched and I dont think has been posted but I cant find details (end date etc)

If someone would like to look for details and post it that would be great. I'm off to bed after working nights last night :D
Thanks to everyone who posts the comps :A

Personal choice really.MSE has virtually the same comps posted & more than likely more besides plus MSE gives you the answers in most cases. Most mainstream comps find their way on here in the end.
    Personally I'd stick with MSE.
Either way it may be as well to stick to one site to avoid double entries.

    Heya,

I was just wondering if anyone could help me. I downloaded roboform yesterday (which is amazing but suddeny) my computer is running realllllly slowly. Is roboform likely to be the problem and if it is is there anything I can do about or do I have to uninstall? Any imput would be appreciated! :)

Hope Ive posted in the right place! x

I had the same problem at the weekend, finally got round to downloading roboform, but nearly straight away browswer slowed down, and started crashing every five minutes - roboform uninstalled and problem resolved.. anyone got any suggestions as to how to get round this (i installed it as roboform everywhere on latest version of firefox.)

ive never had any issues with roboform, even when i gave in a couple weeks ago and paid to upgrade to the newest version to go with ff4.
it didnt also download anything like the mcafee scan thingy? i found that caused major issues with speed (used to be a fab virus scanner, but then started hogging all resources and now the scan your puter for vulnerabilities scanner is often bundled with other downloads ive found).....and i think i had to uncheck it so it didnt come bundled with robo? but i may be remembering wrong....

My Roboform has been playing up something terrible , or perhaps its my computer:mad:
I am useless (or lazy) when it comes to techi things so leave it to my OH who gets annoyed and frustrated. Everytime I have logged on recently there have been problems.

Today it is being selective with the forms it fills and the details it fills. It won't fill in any of the Visit Scotland forms which it has always done and on occasions it is not filling in my phone number.

Does anyone know the reason? Is there a quick fix for the thick?:o
