    Hi ancienctmum :hello:
trifles Your party sounds lovely :)

Congratulations on the arrival of baby Joseph Stiltwalker :T

Thanks for that suggestion Grandma24 - that sounds simple enough.

I suppose if I froze them in batches of 200g (which is how much I tend to use at a time) then did the boiling water thing, I'd just need to add a bit of tom puree to make the consistency similar to that of tinned tomatoes, would I?

Thanks Mardatha, I lit a candle (GK) and it was a lovely experience, don't know why, but I felt very calm and I needed it. But I wont go into my problems now cos they is boring :o

Stiltwalker congrats on Baby Joe hope alls well.

I have a heater on in the living room and its blooming May - I just couldn't get warm without it. Now Im wondering if I will get to switch it off again this year??? Veggies are odd this year, some plants way ahead and others dilly dallying. I planted some tiny tomatoes and 3 plants are tall and 3 are small, all grown in the same little greenhouse etc. Oh well we will have to live on courgettes and foraged blackberries this year. I must try the fruit leathers this year as Oh likes sweeties to nibble and they will be perfect for him to keep in the car.

Smileyt what a pickle your dog got you in! Hope your foot feels better soon. My Mum laughs at me too but I get my own back, like last week when she put her hearing aid in a glass of water instead of her dentures!!

Ginnyknit, I daren't go to the docs with it because they will fall about laughing. I am always going with Bruno-related injuries. My GP once said that if Bruno were a man they would be trying to persuade me to leave him :rotfl:He once dragged me down the road on my bum, and another time he caught a squirrel, which bit me as I tried to rescue it and I ended up at the doc's having my finger seen to.

It is cold, isn't it? I'm sitting here with three long-sleeved tops on. I am off to bed though, so will hopefully snuggle down and get warm there. Perhaps you could burn an effigy of David Cameron and keep warm that way.

ETA I have got in the shower wearing my hearing aid before now lol - I'm sure if I had dentures I'd do the same as your mum! Was the hearing aid ok? She didn't try to put the dentures in her ear did she? Lol my jokes just get worse.

Smiley - sorry but I couldn't help but laugh, but do hope its better soon. We still laugh about a trip to the park with our lab, who decided to chase the smallest dog ever across the park. Dd16 had hold of the lead and didn't let go and was towed through the mud for a good while. Ds and I just stood laughing and were of no use, dd still won't walk dog now.

Ginnyknit I have had heating on today - having bathed the cat I needed to get him dry and he was sat on boiler so it made sense, and I have to admit it was nice to be warm for a change.

Softstuff, you invented Food Poker; I raise you 72 tins tomatoes and I've lost count of the puree tubes.

I'm afraid I folded last month. I had $200 for the month (about 130 pounds), and that included a family lunch, a visit from a friend from melbourne, all the food, a few meds and a day out with MIL to the cinema. So by the end of the month my stockcupboards were literally empty. Haven't managed to build anything up this month, since although I have more money, I've also had a fair bit to spend it on (and went slightly wild with a couple of things).

I've noticed that even with all the reduced food I buy (at its best before, dented, super specials), I'm still finding it damned hard to come in at budget. There's only so many cuts you can make. I'm very grateful for hubbys raise (which is probably why I went a bit wild earlier this month!), since that keeps us further into the black.

Just popping back with a thought for Softstuff - can you record a short message for your friend which your mum can play to her? I know a few people who have done this and the doctors have said that whilst the patient doesnt appear to respond they think it does get through - and I know it made the senders feel at sense of ease to have been able to "speak" their final message when not there as it were. ((HUGS))

It's a nice thought for sure. I'm thinking though that I've always told her how I feel about her, so she knows already (and I don't want to add to my mums "things to do", since she's finding all of this hard going in her condition). After a few scares personally I make sure to tell people how I feel about them, because you never know what might happen.

OMG!!!!! It's my birthday today and I have just been outside to do the daily "growth" inspection in the garden. There was this huge box sat on the doorstep - which has been ripped to shreds by yours truely in a heartbeat. Guess what was inside...only a KENWOOD CHEF!!!!!!!!!!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:D

Only problem is there isnt a card with it so can only assume that as my family live 200 miles away and are not likely to drive in the middle of the night to put it on my doorstep, that it is from the OH. How excited am I??????

I just had to tell people who would appreciate how exciting this is. Work would look at me as if I had dropped off another planet!
